Bear bars around the world that we love

One of the surest things about the Bear community is that we love to party! And that’s evident with the number of bars there are all over the world that cater to the Bear and leather communities.

Not only do we have some really furry, hot and amazing events all year long for the Bear community, but the Bears love to travel even when there aren’t events going on. And when you travel, you need to know where you can find other hot Bears to have a drink and play with. Well, we’ve got you covered!

Here is a short list of just some of the best Bear bars in some of your favorite cities around the world!

There is a new Bear & Leather bar that just opened in Puerto Vallarta in 2022 called Studs Bear Bar. They opened in a former two-story Hamberger Mary’s and have two dance floors and beautiful men. Their opening weekend was PV Pride 2022 and featured the American traveling Bear & Daddy party, Daddy Issues, as their first official party (https://www.facebook.com/groups/daddyissuesusa).

There are also The Barracks and Dick’s On Arenas which are all Bear & Leather bars in Palm Springs. The Barracks is the largest and they host an iconic Bear & Gear Beer Bust every Sunday. Dick’s being the newest, is in the heart of the Palm Springs Arenas district (the Gay District) and used to be an Eagle bar called the Eagle501, but changed its name to Dick’s on Arenas in Nov of 2022 to be a more inclusive Bear, Leather, Pup, Daddy, Men’s Bar. Their Happy hour is massive.

Denver Sweet is a fantastic, two-story Bear bar & club in Denver, Colorado. They have two dance floors on each level, with the second level being a huge rooftop patio complete with its own bar, DJ, and dance floor. Besides having promoters and their own events, they are also a video bar during the weeks and host Beareoke and tons of charity events. They also have a fantastic menu of food (as any bear establishment should). The two owners (who are a married gay couple), Bear Daddies Ken & Randy are amazing guys who do a lot for the local Denver Queer community.

So all of the bear clubs I listed above are clubs I regularly work with. I’m Matt Consola, music producer, DJ, and owner of Swishcraft Music, America’s largest LGBTQAI+ dance record label that is also Bear owned & operated. I’ve also been a resident DJ for 13 years with Bearracuda (www.bearracuda.com), the world’s largest traveling bear party which is in 64 cities in 12 countries. But it’s NOT a circuit party and does not play circuit music. It’s a house & tech house party.

I also DJ and promote for Daddy Issues (a bear & daddy party in 12 cities in The US, Mexico, and Canada), as well as Dirty Disco, a Disco, Funk, and 80s New Wave party that only plays our Dirty Disco & Matt Consola remixes of classic tracks. (These parties are in 8 cities in The US, Mexico, and Canada) and is bear owned and promoted. ( https://swishcraftmusic.com/events/ )These parties are also NOT circuit parties, but vocal house, tech house, disco & funk parties that average between 400 -1000 patrons depending on the city and venue size.

There is a bear bar in Washington, DC called Uproar. Three floors, Great rooftop and Beerbusts every Sunday. They serve really good food, sometimes as free snacks at events!

The Duke Of Wellington & The King’s Arms Soho Bear Bars in London. Love those two Bear Bars. I frequent regularly when I’m down in London during the long hot Summer months. Good-friendly bars. Also the famous Royal Vauxhall Tavern & Roast London club for the hot Bears/Chubs & their Admirers. 100%. Brilliant! Roast even have it’s own ‘special’ Dark Room to have fun in too! Can’t beat them. XXX.
