The Bear World Playlist’s Top 21 Songs of 2021 is here!

The Bear World Playlist’s Top 21 Songs of 2021 results are in! Did your fave make it to the Top 21?

Earlier this year, we launched the official Bear World Playlist curated by Homer Marrs. From Pop to Hip-Hop, this ever evolving playlist features a number of LGBTQ+ bear artists and is full of bops that you can get your absolute LIFE to!

To round out the year, we decided to launch our Top 21 of ‘21 poll a few weeks ago to find out who you’ve enjoyed listening to the most this year. Well, voting has closed and the results are in!

Here is our Top 21 of ‘21!

Vincent DiGeronimo – “Chocolate and Booze”

An independent singer/songwriter from the Bronx, Vincent has released two albums. His single “Chocolate and Booze” was definitely popular with the Bears this year!

Drake Jensen – “Pieces of You”

Drake Jensen’s “Pieces of You” definitely served up the Country-cross over vibes that he is known for. The Bears loved it!

Toska Bear – “Prom Queen Days”

Electronic artist Toska Bear (the alias for Ohio-based musician Jason Porter) released this groovy track earlier this year, and it definitely gets a 100 on the BOP scale! Turn it up and get lost in the rhythm!

Benjamin Koll, Jose Spinnin Cortes – “Made in Heaven” (Jose Spinnin Cortes TLV Radio)

The BEARtastic Benjamin Koll and Jose Spinnin Cortes gave a piece of heaven with this hot dance track!

Tom Goss – “Pride”

Bear crooner Tom Goss showed us what Pride was all about by remembering our hidden LGBTQ heroes with his song “Pride!”

J.R. Price, Tom Goss – “Dance with Me”

The Bearlicious J.R. Price teamed up with Tom Goss to bring us “Dance With Me” — an impassioned love song about the incredible power dance has to bring a couple together before the world breaks them apart!

Homer Marrs – “Ben”

Homer Marrs definitely struck the right chord with this beautiful acoustic number about unrequited love!

The Scarlet Coast – “Home 4 X-Mas”
The Scarlet Coast. Left to right: Michael Van London, David Johnson

This Seattle-based, 60s-inspired folk/rock duo helped us served us “Home 4 X-Mas” this Holiday season — a relatable tune about turning to one’s vices to numb annoying family interactions during Christmas.

J.R. Price – “Daydream”

The Bearlicious J.R. Price is on the list once again! Earlier this year, he released the title track from his Daydream EP — a sparkly, joyful Top 40 pop song about finding one’s home in the world.

Droze – “Never Thought”

Droze has been described as an “80s child raised by the radio and schooled by the R&B of that era.” And, by the sounds of this cool track, it’s the absolute truth! We couldn’t stop ourselves from moving to this funky House-inspired tune.

Daddy Dawg – “Cowboy Shake”

This beefy, country-singing Daddy Dawg showed us how cowboys shake. No wonder this track was so popular!

Toño – “XXXL”

Portland’s favorite Hyperpop Queer rapper took it up a few sizes this year with this extra large banger!

Man on Man – “Beach House”

The musical project MAN ON MAN, started by boyfriends Joey Holman (HOLMAN) and Roddy Bottum (Faith No More), took us to the Beach House this year with this soft rock track.

Freddy Freeman – “Goldenheart”

On his new album, Goldenheart, Freddy Freeman dips his heartfelt authentic songs of hope and personal growth into a delicious candy coating of electro pop goodness, with dashes of 80’s and 90’s retro vibes. The album’s title track is everything you would expect!

Zee Machine – “4 on the Floor”

Midwestern born, internationally raised, music school educated pop/rock/electronic singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Zee Machine gave us this dance anthem this year and sprinkled in some body positivity in the music video. We love to see it!

Big Daddy Karsten, DDm, Big Dipper – “Stepz” (Bearmixxx)

Three of our favorite Bear rappers teamed up to bring you one of the hottest summer club anthems ever! Big Daddy Karsten, DDm and Big Dipper definitely delivered on “Stepz” — Now, BUY THEM A DRINK!

Billy Porter – “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”

The fabulous and talented Billy porter put his spin on a Christmas classic — and we absolutely loved it!

Bryce Quartz – “Goodmorningbq!” (Cubmix)

Queer rapper Bryce Quartz always has something to say! And if you haven’t heard “Goodmorningbq!”, then you’re probably the only one because it’s a bop!

Nakia – “Dream Big”

Singer/songwriter Nakia definitely showed us he had The Voice with this soulful ode to following your dreams. Just listening to it makes you feel empowered to do great things!

YawnyBlew – “Dusk” (BlvkM0nd4y Remix)

Grammy-nominated artist YawnyBlew served us this electronic-influenced R&B/Pop/Hip-Hop track that definitely had us bobbing our heads this summer. What a bop!

Xantheartist – “Hapsburg Lippp”

Xantheartist combines his love for Hip-Hop, Pop and Indie Rock into one unique melodic sound that he has become known for. This bop definitely gives us a taste of what he’s all about!
