We love to champion LGBT artists of all backgrounds, particularly if their work features big bears and chubs! So, when we saw the stunning work of Bafomet, also known as Iker de Peque, we had to feature him and show his work off to our readers.
We asked Bafomet to introduce himself and this is what he had to say:
I am Iker de Peque, aka “Bafomet”. I was born in Bilbao, in the Basque Country of Spain, in 1979. From an early age, I always had a pencil in my hand and due to the fact that I went through a lot of surgeries, I spent a big chunk of my childhood in hospital, which allowed me to draw a lot.
In 2001, I graduated from college in Graphic Design, Art and Multimedia and right about that time I discovered my passion for drawing erotic bear and chub art. In 2011, I moved to California, found love and worked with the TOFF (Tom of Finland Foundation), being featured during West Hollywood Gay Pride.
In 2016, after my husband passed away, I moved to the Palm Springs area, found love again in an amazing and very rewarding triad and became a tattoo artist at “Anarchy and Ink” (both in 29 Palms and Cathedral City). I’ve always enjoyed trying new mediums and now I get to place my art and my chubs on people’s skin too!
