Moom Comics, founded by Łukasz Majcher and based in Germany as the only comic book publisher in Germany that’s dedicated entirely to queer topics, is releasing their latest entry to the world titled “Shards of Me.”
They have previously released other titles such as Power Bear and most recently, a new one called “KINQ.”
Created by Alessio Ciani, Shards of Me combines fantasy, mystery, erotic tension, and emotional relationships in a world inhabited by humans, centaurs, and magical creatures.
It is quite literally the perfect combination that so many of us love when it comes to queer-centered comic books, especially if you’re into stories centered around queer characters in a world that’s not our own!
The story follows Fabio, Mike, and the centaur Basir on their journey to recover the fragments of the Seeding Sword — a mystical blade that shattered long ago and scattered dangerous powers across the world.
These fragments, known as shards, can grant extraordinary abilities, but they also affect the people who possess them in unpredictable ways. Their goal is not power, however.
They are searching for their missing friend David, whose fate is deeply connected to the sword and its fragments.
For Basir especially, the journey is personal: David is the man he loves and hopes to see again.
As the group travels through different regions and encounters conflicts between species, old secrets surrounding the sword slowly begin to surface.
Along the way, the characters are forced to confront not only external dangers, but also their own desires, fears, and relationships with one another.
Shards of Me is now in one of the final phases before release with a Kickstarter to help fund a few things.
Your support will help pay for the translation work going into translating the story between English, German, Italian and French. It will also help fund the final proofreads, the final lettering, and print preparation.

In a time where we are desperate for more queer representations in all types of media it is important to support those of us within our community when given the chance.
