Say Hello to New Podcast from Graham J., ‘Bears, Tea & Tarot’
Acclaimed Irish singer Graham J. has launched a new podcast based on his other specialism, psychotherapy and Tarot, called Bears, Tea & Tarot.
It’s been a while since we talked to this amazing bear singer – when we last chatted, Graham had released various albums and was taking his show on the road, including a performance in New York City.
A few years ago, Graham began training as a psychotherapist with a specialism in the Tarot. It has been a unique journey that has resulted in him starting his own business, Celtic Tarot Therapy. He is now also the co-host and Tarot reader of the new podcast Bears, Tea & Tarot – co-hosted by our Founder, Richard Jones.
We sat down with Graham to find out more about his background and the creation of this very different podcast.

BWM: Tell us about you and how you started to read the Tarot Cards.
Graham J Norton: I’ve always felt like I lived between two worlds. As a child, I was incredibly sensitive to energies and emotions around me, and I didn’t always have the language for what I was experiencing. That changed when I discovered Tarot. But really, the seeds were planted much earlier. My grandmother was a well-known tea leaf reader, a proper old school tasseomancer. Watching her work her magic, seeing how people lit up when she read for them, left a deep impression on me. She fostered my love for intuitive reading, and Tarot became the language I spoke most fluently. It’s never been about predicting the future for me. It’s about insight, empowerment, and helping people reconnect with their own inner wisdom.
BWM: What made you decide to create Bears, Tea and Tarot?
GJN: Bears Tea and Tarot was born out of a deep desire to create something that felt like a cosy spiritual kitchen table chat, a place where people could feel seen, understood, and a little bit enchanted. My co-host Richard and I have been friends for years, and we realized we were already having the kinds of conversations that so many people were craving. We wanted to create something that was soulful without being self-serious. Two burly gay men, a pot of tea, and a deck of tarot cards. What could go wrong? But truly, it’s about connection. We bring heart, humor, and a bit of mysticism to everyday struggles, and I think that mix is what makes the show feel like home for our listeners.

BWM: You’ve had a few special guests and Richard seems to not tell you who they are. Why is that important
GJN: That’s one of the most powerful parts of the show. When Richard arranges for guests to come on, I often don’t know who they are until the moment of the reading. And that’s intentional. It allows me to read purely from intuition and energy, without any preconceptions or background noise. It also helps build trust with our guests and our listeners. It’s proof that this work is real, that spirit speaks clearly when we listen. Those moments where someone hears exactly what they need, without me knowing a thing about them, are magical. It becomes less about performance and more about sacred connection.

BWM: What should listeners of the podcast know?
GJN: They should know this is a safe, open hearted space. Whether you’re deeply spiritual or just curious, you are welcome here. We blend mysticism with real talk, and we never shy away from the hard stuff – grief, identity, healing, transformation. But we do it with humour, kindness, and a strong belief that every person deserves to feel empowered. It’s not about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s about showing up, exploring the mystery, and having a few laughs along the way. Think of us as your best gay friends with tea, tarot, and a lot of love.

BWM: What are the future plans for the podcast and for you
GJN: We’re dreaming big. There’ll be more guests, listener call ins, and in time, live shows and retreats where people can gather in person and experience the same sense of connection and magic, we aim to create through the podcast.
Personally, I’m working on a book that’s very close to my heart. It explores the necessity of the return of the Divine Feminine and draws deeply from the ancient and forbidden texts of the Gnostic Gospels. The book reinterprets these writings as powerful tools for mental health and personal spiritual development. It’s written especially with the LGBTQ community in mind, to help readers build a personal, empowering relationship with the Divine and live their most authentic, fulfilled lives. I believe spirituality should be inclusive, healing, and deeply liberating, and that’s the message I’ll continue to share through the podcast and everything I create.
