Bear Chef Gavan Knox to Appear on Gusto TV’s BLITZ!
BLITZ!, now entering its third season, has found success as a new type of cooking show from Gusto TV. How is it different? Well, all episodes are shot live to tape with chefs, real-time cooking and conversation, hidden strobe lights, old movies on a big screen, graffiti, trivia, corny jokes, even impromptu visits from the crew and staff… not quite your typical “French Chef” format, amiright?!
BLITZ! gets its name from the pace and movement of both the chefs and the cameras. It’s more than a cooking show; it’s an experience and adventure. Join your favorite Gusto TV hosts as they prepare meals they love, enjoy, and make all the time… Their only instructions are in choosing what to cook – Pick dishes you can cook in your sleep and have fun!
Chris Knight, Gusto TV’s rarely seen CEO, Executive Producer, occasional director, writer, and bon vivant will be introducing the chefs, prompting them with questions about the dishes, quizzing them on trivia and points of style, and possibly even stirring a pot or two. Yes, in both meanings of that phrase.
What makes it all the more exciting?! Well our good friend and Bear World Magazine contributing chef, Gavan Knox is appearing on the show this season! Chef Gavan is an award-winning Irish Canadian baker, chocolate aficionada, proud bear and father of two. Gavan’s love for baking started at a young age when he would bake with his mother and patiently wait to taste the mouthwatering creation cooking in the oven. Although Gavan always loved experimenting in the kitchen, his love of baking blossomed in 2014, when he decided to leave his job as a building specification writer to raise his children. His technical background allows him to deconstruct recipes and think about what ingredients could be substituted to add extra layers of interest, creating unique and delicious combinations. Gavan was the only competitor from Eastern Canada to appear on the third season of Food Network Canada’s The Great Chocolate Showdown, where he wowed the judges by using unexpected ingredients and flavors, making it to the semi-finals. He has become the resident baking expert on many daytime shows, including The Social, The Marilyn Denis Show, Your Morning, and many more.
Catch Gavan on BLITZ! for Season 3, Episode 1 on May 28 at 7 PM ET (re-airing on May 30 at 7 PM ET). He will then return for Episode 2 on July 1 at 6 PM ET (re-airing on July 3 at 6 and 10 PM ET). Both episodes will also then be available on demand on the Gusto TV app. He’ll be preparing 3 dishes live in the kitchen against the clock! You don’t want to miss it!
