Trailer for ultra-gory ‘Mortal Kombat’ reboot released!

FATALITY! The new Mortal Kombat movie trailer looks deliciously gruesome!

The trailer for the reboot of Mortal Kombat has been released today, and we are gagging! It looks just as violent and gruesome as the original video game, and for anyone who has ever played it, it seems like you’ll be in for a bloody good time.

The film will star Lewis Tan as MMA fighter Cole Young, who assumes that the weird dragon-shaped scar on his chest is just a regular birthmark. However, he soon realizes that it means way more when is recruited to fight in a the legendary Mortal Kombat tournament.

The new film is set to be a reboot of the original Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation films from the 1990s, but now including a lot of the gory, hyper-violence of the original fighting game. The film is so violent that Warner Bros. actually released two trailers, one of which includes an even more gory red-band version available on YouTube!

Mortal Kombat will be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max on April 16th, 2021.
