The Art of Herzfarbenrausch

Herzfarbenrausch is a German bear and artist of the highest caliber. His work is colorful, at times provocative, thought provoking and refreshingly diverse in its breadth and scope. From the erotic to the religious, no subjects are off limits for this talented painter. Get to know what drives his creativity and see a sample of his gorgeous work below.

BWM: Tell us a bit about your background and who you are.

Herzfarbenrausch: My name is Enas Jusufov, and you can find me under the name HERZFARBENRAUSCH. I am an artist, and I live my life in colors. Every emotion, every thought, and every experience leaves its mark in the form of a color in my mind.

My art is loud, colorful, and full of life—just like me. It reflects the world as I see it. For me, painting is the only way to express my feelings and communicate with the world.

BWM: What is it about bears that makes you want to incorporate them into your art?

Herzfarbenrausch: I am a bear, and I love bears. I enjoy painting beautiful things, like my favorite type of men. Through my works, I affirm the normalcy of the LGBTQ community, emphasizing the diversity of humanity. My intention is to communicate to people through my art that it’s okay to be different—because that’s what makes us all unique.

BWM: What initially drew you into the bear community? And what keeps you here?

Herzfarbenrausch: What initially drew me into the bear community was the sense of acceptance and inclusivity I found among its members. It’s a community where people embrace different body types and celebrate diversity. What keeps me there is the strong sense of camaraderie, support, and understanding that I continue to experience within the community.

BWM: What methods do you use in your artwork? Painting? Illustration? Digital? Are you professionally trained or self-taught? Tell us about that.

Herzfarbenrausch: In my artwork, I primarily use painting as my main method of expression. I love working with acrylics and experimenting with different textures and techniques. While I dabble in illustration and digital art occasionally, painting remains my preferred medium.

As for my training, I am predominantly self-taught. I’ve always had a passion for art since I was young, and I’ve dedicated countless hours to honing my skills through practice, experimentation, and studying the works of other artists. However, I’ve also taken a few art classes and workshops over the years to learn new techniques and refine my abilities further.

BWM: Who are some of your artistic inspirations?

Herzfarbenrausch: Some of my artistic inspirations are artists like Gustav Klimt, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh. Their works impressed me with their powerful expression, their originality and their courage. Contemporary artists like Yayoi Kusama and Banksy also inspire me with their unique perspectives and creative approaches.

BWM: Walk us through your creative process for a piece. What inspires a painting  for you? Are the images based on people in your life? Your imagination?

Herzfarbenrausch: When creating a piece of art, I often start with an idea or feeling that inspires me. Sometimes my inspiration comes from experiences in my own life, encounters with people, or simply from my imagination.

My creative process usually begins with sketching or jotting down ideas on paper. I experiment with different compositions, colors, and styles to achieve the desired mood and expression. I let my intuition guide me and give space for my inner artist to express itself.

Once I have a clear vision of my artwork, I select the materials and techniques that best suit it. Then, I dive into the process of painting or drawing, allowing my emotional state and inner feeling to guide me. Every brushstroke or pencil line is a conscious decision that brings my vision to life.

In the end, a piece of art is created that tells a story or conveys an emotion, whether it’s from my own life, my dreams, or my imagination.

BWM: Where can we see/ purchase your work?

Herzfarbenrausch: You can find and purchase my artwork on my social media profiles. I go by the name “Herzfarbenrausch” on both Facebook and Instagram, and you can also visit my website at www.Herzfarbenrausch.com.

BWM: What big projects are you working on? What is coming next?

Herzfarbenrausch: Currently, I’m open to new projects that push forward my artistic journey. Personally, I prefer the atmosphere of a bear community exhibition over impersonal galleries and large-scale exhibitions. My upcoming projects focus on celebrating and supporting the diversity and beauty of the LGBTQ+ community.
