Soho Horror Fest: Pride Edition

It’s a big weekend for lovers of queer horror, as Soho Horror Fest hosts its virtual Pride edition from July 2nd-4th!

Entitled Sohome Horror Pride, this film festival will include 9 full length features, 22 short films and 5 special/live events. The full schedule will be posted below. All event times are UK/BST *

One of the features is Death Drop Gorgeous, previously covered by us here! Other titles include the international premiere of Before the Night is Over and The UK premiere of Playdurizm.

Among the short films, there is #Gayboy2020 and Unfinished Business. For the live events, there will be a musical presentation and panels including ‘Cis-tem Error’, which discusses trans representation in horror and  ‘Hex the Patriarchy’, celebrating the 25th anniversary and social impact of The Craft. Part of that presentation will include ‘The Craft Cabaret’ featuring a new skit by our very own Stan the Mechanic!

Typically, the Soho Horror Fest is an annual event held in November in the heart of Soho, London, but has gone digital in light of the pandemic where it has expanded. Since the pandemic began, they have produced five virtual queer horror film festivals on a free/ donate what you can basis.

There are no tickets to buy for this weekend’s film festival. All you need do is join their Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/sohomehorrorfest. (copy and paste link if any issues)

All livestreams will be held here and links to the films will be shared to the group. As mentioned, the event is free, but if you can donate please do at www.paypal.me/sohohorror. 25% of all donations will go to Mermaids UK, a leading organization in support of trans, nonbinary and gender diverse youth in the UK.
