Lady Gaga confirmed to perform national anthem at Biden-Harris Inauguration!

Gaga has been confirmed as a performer at the Presidential Inauguration festivities next week, and we love to see it!

Variety has reported that the Biden-Harris inaugural committee has confirmed that international superstar Lady Gaga is set to sing the national anthem for the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on Jan. 20.

“Gaga is on board to perform ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ for the swearing-in ceremony, which typically begins around 11:30 a.m. EST on the West front of the U.S. Capitol around 11:30 a.m. EST.”, Variety reports.

It has previously been confirmed that Jennifer Lopez is also slated to perform, while Andrea Hall, a career firefighter, will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Also, Amanda Gorman, Los Angeles native and first ever National Youth Poet Laureate (and a Los Angeles native) will be reciting a poem.

Father Leo O’Donovan will deliver an invocation, while Reverend Dr. Silvester Beaman will deliver a benediction. Both religious leaders are longtime friends of the Biden family.

Other artists, speakers and performers have yet to be publicly released, though it is expected that this year’s inaugural festivities have attracted a significant lineup of celebrities and industry leaders. A virtual parade and other virtual events are scheduled for live streams on Jan. 20.

The superstar talent is no stranger to performing “The Star Spangled Banner; Her Super Bowl 50 performance of the patriotic American anthem received rave reviews in 2016.

She’s also an avid supporter and friend of Joe Biden. The two joined forces in 2017 for a PSA about sexual assault, and have been close ever since. “Honored to work with a woman of great courage, my friend Lady Gaga. With her leadership, and your help, we can change the culture,” Biden said when retweeting Lady Gaga’s tweet of a video message featuring the two of them in which she referred to Biden as “my buddy”.

Lady Gaga also gave an emotional speech at Joe Biden’s Pittsburgh rally, and tweeted a congratulations message to Biden and Harris after the election results were announced.

“Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the American people, you just gave the world one of the greatest acts of kindness and bravery humanity has ever seen… Nothing but love for our new Commander in Chief and the 1ST female VP elected to the White House. Also, way to go PA.”

This year’s inclusion of Lady Gaga’s activism is a strong indication of Hollywood’s support for Democrats, and a testament to the strong industry relationships Biden has nurtured during his eight years as Vice President alongside President Barack Obama.
