Hot, furry dancer goes viral after apartment ad catches the internet’s attention

A furry New York City dancer was just looking for an apartment, but he got more than he was looking for!

29 year-old Saverio Pescucci, a professional Italian dancer living in New York City, was just looking for a room to rent in New York City. He posted his search in the Gypsy Housing group on Facebook, and attached a few photos of himself.

Describing himself as “super chill, friendly, gay, and Covid responsible,” Pescucci thought he would include some vacation photos and photos of him dancing so people could see who he was and what he was all about. But then, to his surprise, his post quickly went viral.

“I saw a lot of people … were posting pictures of themselves, like selfies and casual photos, to show that they’re not sociopaths or what kind of lifestyle they have,” Pescucci told the New York Post. “I did the same [but] I was not imagining that it would turn into an episode of ‘The Bachelor.’ “

Regardless of his true intentions, the internet made sure the Tuscany native got way more than he bargained for. People came from all over to shoot their shot, with one straight woman even lamenting the fact that her shot was invalid since Pescucci is gay. “The hot ones are never straight,” she wrote.

However, most of the commenters were fellow gay men. “You won’t be paying rent for too long once you get here … [you’re] f–king hot,” said one commenter.

“I don’t have a room but I am single,” wrote 26 year-old Queens resident and drag performer Hassan Salazar. “I’m just here to snatch myself a good man. He can have my apartment lol.”

Speaking to the New York Post, Salazar said that what struck him the most about Pescucci was the fact that he was a dancer and that he had gorgeous eyebrows. “I’m going to consider my marriage proposal as pending,” he said.

Pescucci told The Post that his ad was not at all meant to be a thirst trap, and that the attention did not make him uncomfortable. He was just initially overwhelmed by it all.

“It was like, like, like, comment, comment, DM, DM”, said Pescucci. “It was just a lot.”

Eventually, Pescucci went back to the post to address his adoring new fans. “Omg, just waking up and what is happening on this post!?!?? I just wanted a room!!!!,” he exclaimed.

“Thank you for all the sweet and kind words and help finding a room,” he added later. “I’ll read all the comments as … soon as I get a chance!”

Originally trained at the prestigious La Scala Ballet Academy in Milan, Pescucci has been featured with such dance companies as the Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Finnish National Ballet. He then made his Broadway debut in 2017 in The Phantom of the Opera.

Now Pescucci, who recently got a job as an Italian food distributor after the pandemic has put his dance career on hold indefinitely, has hundreds of date prospects. “Life is unpredictable and you never know. Maybe my future husband will be one of the commenters on this post,” he said.

Pescucci also, of course, found a wonderful new room in a three-bedroom apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. “The funny thing is that I didn’t find it from the post!” he said, adding he found it through another Gypsy Housing ad.

He also added that, if he’s ever looking for a new place, he may tone his ad down just a tiny bit. “Maybe just one or two and keep it a little more simple,” he said. “Or maybe not, if I’m not that desperate to find a room.”
