Fierté Ours Paris 2019 – all the info
Over 2000 bears are set to return to the French Capital as France’s biggest bear event, Fierté Ours Paris, returns from May 29 to June 2.
Fierté Ours Paris is organised by Les Ours de Paris, the bear association of Paris, and has been held every spring since 2008 during Ascension weekend in France.
Fierté Ours Paris is comprised of drinks, meals, picnics, club nights, sauna visits and, of course, the election of Mr. Ours 2019.
Also, each year an artist is associated with Fierté Ours Paris, they design the visual of the event and exhibits for a month at Bears’den in Paris. In 2019, Samouraï de Coke has been chosen and will present a series of new linocuts on the theme of bears.
MONSIEUR OURS 2019
Since 2008, candidates from all over France have been taking part in the election of Mr. Ours, the major event of Fierté Ours Paris.
This year, twenty-four candidates will be shortlisted down to eight by online voting. Those eight will go forward into the live show on June 1st at Point Ephémère. The audience and a jury comprised of important Bear and LGBTQI + community members will elect Mr. Ours 2019 and his two runners up.
As part of the process, photographer Christine Godeau will capture the final eight candidates and they will be unveiled as part of the evening.
