Eight Fashionable Clothing Brands Keeping Big Guys in Mind
Stop me if you heard this: you’re out shopping at your local mall or department store for some new clothes only to be presented with the most abysmal selections of oversized, bulky pieces that don’t ever fit right. Maybe you’re thinking that this is your only option for clothes. No need to fret because I got you covered. Clear out your closet and make room for some new clothes. I scoured through Instagram, TikTok, and the entire web to find some online clothing brands that not only offer size-inclusive pieces, but trendy clothes you’d be proud to wear.
Big Bud Press: P/XXS – 6XL
Let’s kick things off with a brand that’s offering ethically made colorful, bold staples for all shapes and sizes. Big Bud Press is a fast-growing Los Angeles-based clothing brand specializing in unisex goods. All pieces are made in the USA from locally sourced materials, ranging from tank tops and baby tees to fisherman polos, trousers, and boilersuits. The colors are vibrant, patterns are bold and flattering to every body type. If I could fill up my shopping cart with these pieces, I would choose the Original Overalls – Mono Espresso since I’ve never owned a pair of adult overalls, and this color is very versatile, the Long Sleeve Fisherman Polo – Sunshine Yellow because of the vintage appeal and I love a good long sleeve polo, and The Tank Top – Paprika with it being summer and the basic Hanes ribbed tanks are just not cutting it.
100 Brawn: XL – 5XL
Up next, if streetwear is more your aesthetic, might I suggest checking out 100 Brawn? Their mission is to create inclusive streetwear pieces for big, brawny men who want to look cool and feel good. The site is filled with streetwear staples including, but not limited to, jerseys, varsity jackets, hoodies, sweat sets, graphic tees, and more. Some pieces that stood out to me were the Never Trust Tee because of the interesting artwork on the front and back (and you can never have enough graphic tees), the Brawn Cowboy Workshirt because of the western artwork which looks like another interesting collared shirt to add to my closet, and the Half/Half Brawn Hockey Jersey which allows you to rock the classic hockey jersey silhouette without the commitment of picking a team.
Johnny Bigg: L to 8XL and LT to 4XLT
Founded in Australia in 2014 and then in the USA in 2020, Johnny Bigg is on a mission to provide high-quality, stylish, and affordable clothes for bigger men. Looking for office-ready polos and trousers or your next ‘fit for an upcoming party? Johnny Bigg’s wide variety of styles has you covered. Let’s talk about pieces that stood out to me (and I would more likely buy). The Rust Gibson Splice Polo has a vintage look to it plus the zipper is a nice touch. The Azure Cruz Linen Blazer looks like it could be dressed or down depending on the occasion. The perfect summer blazer every man needs. Finally, the Seashell Lisbon Volley Swim Short feels playful and fun thanks to the intricate seashell pattern.
One Bone: M – 8XL
Looking to stock up on comfortable, cozy basics designed with bigger guys in mind? For over 40 years, One Bone has been crafting men’s plus-size clothing never compromising on style or fit. Their tops are carefully from the shorter length of the sleeves to the extra room in the belly and extra length for full coverage. The Bullet Tee, made from wrinkle- and moisture-resistant fabric, seems like the perfect t-shirt to add to the rotation, built for the elements. The Outwork Pants look like the WFH pants, seamlessly looking good while being comfortable. And their modern take on Cargo Shorts promises a relaxed fit and slim profile. Plus, these shorts are designed with a built-in belt.
Good Counsel: M- 8XL
For those looking for a more quiet luxury aesthetic, check out the selection from Good Counsel, the subscription-based retailer filled with looks crafted for whatever occasion. Feel like the uber-cool executive showing up late to the meeting in their perfectly-crafter bomber jacket or look the coolest bear at the resort in their lightweight, yet durable linen pants. As far as my personal favorites, I do like the Johnson Linen S/S Shirt, especially in this olive green color. I would of course pair them with the matching shorts. I think the pieces separately are so versatile that you could pair them with your favorite jorts or a ribbed tank. I also love the McHale Cargo Pant. You can never go wrong with a pair of cargo pants and they also look comfortable.
Biggmans: L – 9XL
Just like its name suggests, Biggmans was created for big, tall, and burly men. They offer a mix of streetwear-inspired pieces — graphic joggers, hoodies, and t-shirts — and business casual walking suits. They definitely have their silhouettes nailed that’s for sure. Some pieces that stood out to me include the Men’s Large Size Casual Retro Color Block Plaid Classic Street Short Shirt Shorts Suit because of the Burberry-esque plaid pattern. I also liked the Men’s Black Line Plus Size Gradient Short Sleeve Walking Suit thanks in part to the unique shirt pattern. And of course, everyone needs at least one bear shirt and the Men’s Large Bear Camouflage Street Hip-Hop Shirt fits well in my closet.

The Uptheir Crossed Mid-Weight Stripe Shorts in Black and Green caught my eye; sweat shorts have been a cozy day staple for me in recent years. I am also a huge fan of very loud floral buttons so when I saw the Uptheir Ely Tropical Floral Print SS Shirt in Light Blue, I had to add it to my cart. Lastly, the Uptheir Dunnock Colour Block Knitted Sweater is an absolute must-have. Even though the temps outside are a bit toasty, it’s never too early to start beefing up your winter sweaters.
Strongsize: XL – 8XL
Let’s take it back to the basics with the next brand on our roster, Strongsize. Although their selection is small, what they offer are affordable, durable, and high-quality tops that can withstand whatever life throws your way. If you’re anything like me, you know finding a simple T-shirt can be a little impossible. They never fit the way I want, either being too tight around the gut and arms or ending up looking too boxy. Everything was considered when constructing the Everyday Stretch Crewneck Tee Longer. The same can be said about the Everyday Stretch Snap Henley and the Everyday Stretch Snap Polo. Nothing more needs to be said about these sleek tops. I need these in my closet immediately.
