Disney + releases trailer for season two of ‘The Mandalorian’!

The trailer for season one of the first live-action Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian, has been released! As Disney+’s flagship program since the streaming service launched last fall, The Mandalorian has since gone on to become a massive success, along with fan-favorite and meme sensation, Baby Yoda.

The show has since earned 15 Emmy nominations, including Best Drama. Lucasfilm was already working on season two before season one premiered, indicating that they were sure it would be a hit. Therefore, season two of The Mandalorian, unlike many other shows that had to postpone filming, was able to stay on track amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The new season is on track to be released next month.

The trailer for the new season focuses heavily on Din Djarin’s dynamic with Baby Yoda, and seems to trace their mission. This time around, Din is on a quest for the Jedi, hoping The Child can find a home with them. However, that task may prove difficult, especially since the Jedi and Mandalorians are long-time enemies that have fought many battles against each other.

Furthermore, Jedi are obviously rare and, considering The Mandalorian‘s place in the Star Wars timeline, it denotes that there will most likely be no easy answers for Din on his journey. From the looks of the trailer, it seems as if he and Baby Yoda travel all across the galaxy, with Tatooine being shown throughout the footage.

The pair also visit an ice planet — which could definitely be Ilum, a world featured in The Clone Wars and Jedi: Fallen Order. That world, which becomes Starkiller base, was extremely  important to the Jedi Order, and was where they went to find kyber crystals for lightsabers. This means it would make sense for Din to look there given those connections.

Audiences seem very excited for The Mandalorian to return, particularly since iconic Star Wars characters like Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano are rumored to be joining the cast, after much speculation earlier this year. Rosario Dawson will reportedly be playing live-action Ahsoka Tano, though that casting has not been officially confirmed yet. It’s safe to say that the levels of anticipation for The Mandalorian season two have been extremely high!
