Bear World Magazine: What can you tell us about the song?
Zee Machine: It details my fantasy about a future where we’ve made it to the other side of the pandemic (and where I’m an extrovert) and we don’t have to hide our faces anymore. The vibe of the song seems to remind so many people of so many different things, so in a way I think it sounds both futuristic and timeless.
BWM: What’s your favorite bear bar, party or event?
ZM: have particularly fond memories of the year I spent my birthday at Bearracuda in LA. I also played my first solo show at Rockbar in NYC so that has a special place in my heart.
BWM: What’s a pet peeve when it comes to dudes today?
ZM: When they hit you with “Guess not” if they don’t get a response. Also drunk texts.
BWM: What will you always find sexy?
ZM: Good clear selfies, warm speaking voices, bellies poking out of shirts.
BWM: Who are your top three queer musical influences?
ZM: Probably Freddie Mercury, MUNA, and Lady Gaga.
BWM: What can we expect from you in 2022?
ZM: I’ve finally got enough cohesive music together to put out my second EP that I’ve been putting off since COVID hit. So, in other words, world domination and the best songs you’ve ever heard.
