Bear World Magazine: What can you tell us about the song?
GodIsMikey: I’m just having fun with it. I don’t think every song’s gotta be super serious or bar heavy. This was one of those moments where I heard a beat and instantly started spitting whatever came to mind.
BWM: When did you start recording music?
GIM: Years ago! Like, 2015/2016. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to get into music. A guy I was dating forced me to finally find a studio and book some time to record!
BWM: When it comes to dating, does a guy’s musical taste affect your interest in him?
GIM: Not necessarily. Guys, in general, are dumb. So, if your taste in music is bad I just chop it up to that.
BWM: Do you have any favorite bear bars or events?
GIM: I’ve actually never been to a Bear bar or event here in Atlanta. I’m sure they have them and I’d definitely go if invited!
BWM: Who are your favorite queer male artists?
GIM: I would say President Ward, Cali M, Frank Ocean, Santana, and Lil Nas X.
BWM: What is your biggest source of inspiration for your sound right now?
GIM: The Queen! (Nicki Minaj)
BWM: Any upcoming performances or songs?
GIM: Right now, I’m still sorting out tracklisting for my next project. I take that super seriously, so that’s where my focus is. However, I will say I am dropping 1–2 projects this year. And the lead for the first project will be out before summer!
