Woof! Rugged Heartthrobs Abound in Gladiator II

From legendary director Ridley Scott, Gladiator II continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. There has been tons of buzz around the forthcoming sequel to 2000’s Gladiator which starred Russel Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix, mainly on account of it starring the handsome and charismatic Pedro Pascal, otherwise known as the internet’s mega-daddy. And while people continue to speculate about Pascal’s private life, bears and queer men everywhere can enjoy the heartthrob in all his gladiator-gear clad glory come Friday November 22nd when the movie premieres.

And while homoeroticism is inherent in any story about Ancient Rome and the gladiators, apparently this movie was going to make it explicit. We are being robbed of a male on male kiss involving the one and only Denzel Washington according to an interview he did with Gayety, although subsequent reports are stating that the kiss was improvised and never intended to be in the final film. For that we say thank you Daddy Denzel! We see you handsome! WOOF!

Gladiator II opens this Friday November 22. Only in theaters.
