Trans rock artist Lenny Zenith supports Trans youth with ‘Where is Safe?’

NYC-based Trans rock singer Lenny Zenith has released a new single “Where is Safe?”, where he sings about his personal journey in order to raise awareness about Trans issues and support Trans youth.

During a time when gender affirming care for Trans people and Trans youth are being threatened in states all over the U.S., the single serves as a reminder that we need to remain diligent and protect Trans rights. Trans people should feel safe and protected, and he is proof that this support can save lives

“Had my parents not gotten me gender-affirming care when I was a teen transitioning in New Orleans a long time ago, I wouldn’t be here talking to you today,” Zenith said in a video posted to Twitter.

He goes on to say: “Right now in the United States, many states are considering denying this life-saving care to trans youth and non-binary kids. The American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association have stated that gender-affirming care is life-saving care.”

The video premiered Friday, May 27th on Facebook Live, and included a Q&A that featured a panel of Trans advocates and activists such as anti-trans legislation tracker, Erin Reed; psychologist Dr. Carole M. Filangieri; Tulane University professor Anneliese Singh; queer Transmasculine social worker and public policy advocate Ashton Santo; and clinical instructor at the Harvard Law Cyberlaw Clinic, Alejandra Caraballo.

All of the proceeds from the premiere and streaming and download sales will be donated to organizations that combat anti-Trans laws and promote the protection of Trans youth, including Southern Equality Campaign, Trans Youth Alabama, ACLU, and The Trevor Project.

“Where is Safe?” can be streamed on Apple Music, Spotify or all other major music streaming platforms.
