The Aloha Bears Invite You to Come Lei-A-Bear This Memorial Day Weekend

Once again this year, the Aloha Bears will be hosting their annual Lei-a-Bear weekend of fun, sun and brotherhood in Hawaii during this coming (American) Memorial Day Weekend in May.

I have attended this event in the past and IMHO, this is one of the most fun Bear events to be had.  But be warned : if you are looking for nonstop action and excitement, this may not be your cup of super-charged lemonade.

Rather, if you are looking to relax and enjoy and get to know people – and enjoy the weather, the sun and surf – pack you Speedo, sunscreen and Hawaiian shirts and get ready to see some wonderful Banana Boats and Banana Hammocks!

If you’ve never been to Hawaii, this is your chance to go and see all the beauty that the islands (especially Oahu, and more specifically, Waikiki) has to offer. Most importantly, you can do it with your fellow brother island bears.

The ever-popular ultra-fun booze-cruise, which takes you all around the waters of Waikiki and lets you enjoy Hawaii in all its splendor, is back, along with a private day trip to Secret Island where the Bear-fun is nonstop. There will also be a Bear-B-Que picnic on Waikiki Beach and even a B.I.L.F. (Bears I’d Like to Forage) Party. Grass skirts and coconut bras are optional.

The Aloha Bears is one of the most culturally diverse groups I’ve ever come across.  No need to feel like you have to fit in – you already do.

Here is a link to the website for registration. The host hotel, the Holiday Inn Express in Waikiki, is offering rooms for around $200 a night (which is really cheap for Hawaii). Cruise the internet and you will find websites offering roundtrip tickets to Honolulu for as low as $200 US (but, please, shop carefully).

If you’ve never experienced the Aloha Spirit, now is your chance.  Come enjoy it with a slice of dragon fruit and a lei.

And perhaps your very own local Aloha Spirit Animal.
