The 2026 Subaru Outback: One of the best for the Year
The fully-redesigned 2026 Subaru Outback comes back even stronger and better this year, looking taller and butcher and more like a full-sized SUV than its previous incarnations.
And it’s not just our lesbian sisters who have known the joys and importance of having an Outback as their car of choice, no matter where you live or what you do.
The stereotype is that lesbians have always driven Subarus, and there is good reason why this stereotype persists. Subarus have always had All-Wheel Drive, making them very reliable cars in every kind of weather event.
(A primer: Rear-Wheel Drive effectively ‘pushes’ the car. Front-Wheel Drive effectively pulls the car. All-Wheel Drive effectively does both, as if you had four firemen helping you out from all angles.)
Our sisters have always known how to get us out a jam, and a Subaru is one of the best cars to do that. They have always been perfect on any road in any condition. No slave to fashion, sure, but Subarus generally hold their value well.

This year’s Outback rides taller and wider than previous editions. In addition to AWD, you get a 12.3-inch touchscreen and ground clearance of at least 8.7 inches, as well as an impressive suite of safety features.
You can get into the base Outback for around $36K US, which ain’t bad but is still a good chunk of change if you have job security anxiety.
There really are no legitimate downsides to this year’s Outback. There is no hybrid option, sure, but if you want an electric Outback, check out the all-new Subaru Trail Seeker, which I will review later this Fall.
As always, get in and see how you fit. Legitimate Subaru dealers will let you test drive one first.
And Happy Autumn, gentlemen, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. Time to start dreaming of Pumpkin Spice and everything nice that goes along with that Fall flavor.

I admit to being a Pumpkin Spice Bear. My husband Paul, who is an Australian, finds it bizarre that we Americas make pumpkin a dessert flavor and celebrate it as something other than a root vegetable. But I can’t help it. I would drink Pumpkin Spiced Lattes all year long if I could.
That said, please be prepared as the weather starts to turn. The coming El Nino weather promises to wreak havoc across the planet. Those conditions could cause, among other maladies, shrinkage.
Be prepared, as the Boy Scouts used to profess.
And get ready for Key West Bear Weekend, happening this Halloween.
Hopefully, you learned something other than how to take care of your buddies while rising through the ranks in the Boy Scouts.
