International Bear Convergence Returns to Palm Springs for 2026

As winter chills settle across much of the globe, the desert is heating up for one of the most anticipated fixtures on the LGBTQ+ social calendar. Now entering its ninth year, International Bear Convergence (IBC) is set to return to Palm Springs from February 19–23, 2026, promising a weekend of sun-drenched pool parties, world-class entertainment, and community camaraderie.

Palm Springs, long celebrated as one of the most “gay-friendly” cities in the world, provides the perfect backdrop for the event. With its stunning mountain vistas and mid-century modern charm, the city is ready to welcome hundreds of attendees for what organizers describe as a weekend of “decadence and debauchery.”

The festivities are centered at Hotel ZOSO, the official host hotel located “smack dab” in the middle of downtown Palm Springs. While the ZOSO is currently sold out and operating a waiting list, IBC has partnered with a second host hotel, the Hilton Palm Springs, located just one block east to accommodate the influx of guests.

Both properties are situated around the corner from the Arenas District, the city’s epicenter for gay-owned shopping, dining, and nightlife, ensuring that attendees are never more than a few steps away from the energy of the city.

The weekend kicks off early on Thursday, February 19, with the “Early Bear Welcome Party” at Hunter’s Night Club. From there, the momentum builds through a series of curated events:

  • The Pool Deck: Starting Friday morning, the newly renovated Hotel ZOSO pool deck becomes the weekend’s hub. Featured DJs include DJ Chub Jim, DJ Retro Cub, and making his IBC debut directly from Madrid, Spain, DJ Radio Chi.
  • The “Meat” & Greet: Friday afternoon, the crowd moves to BlackBook Bar for the annual mixer, followed by the high-energy Speed Dating event hosted by Joe Martone—the perfect place to find “Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now.”
  • Themed Nights: Friday night transports guests to ancient Rome with the “Gladiator” Toga party featuring music by DJ Marcos Moreno. Saturday night sees the return of the legendary Furball Leather/Gear Party, headlined by the iconic DJ Tony Moran.
  • The Maze: Back by popular demand, “The MAZE” returns this year with a special twist for those who “dare to enter.”

On Saturday, during the Retro Splash Pool Party, the search for the next community ambassador culminates in the crowning of Mr. IBC 2026. The contest is open to all, emphasizing the inclusive spirit of the event.

The weekend draws to a close on Sunday with the Hungry Bear Drag Brunch—a high-energy meal featuring performances by fabulous queens—and a night of side-splitting comedy featuring Brad Loekle. To cap off the experience, a hospitality mixer with an open bar sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, Casamigos, and Captain Morgan will serve as a final “thank you” to all attendees.

Beyond the parties, IBC 2026 remains committed to giving back. Portions of the event proceeds will be donated to the Palm Springs LGBTQ Center and AAP/Food Samaritans, supporting essential services in the Coachella Valley.

“Forget shoveling snow,” the organizers said. “Get out of the cold and plan on hanging with the guys in Palm Springs for IBC 2026!”
