Kyle Motsinger serves us vintage glamor and fashion in ‘Retro’ music video

Singer-songwriter Kyle Motsinger is serving us retro fashion in his new music video!

Kyle Motsinger’s “Retro” is a celebration of vintage fashion, and his decision to “make my outside match the me inside!”

“I’ve been really bored with today’s clothing styles,” says Kyle. “I’ve found that clothing used to be more colorful and bolder in design. I thought it would be fun to talk about this in a song.”

Not only is Kyle singing about retro fashion, but the song also features a throwback sound, which includes elements of funk, disco, and 80’s hair band rock! “It’s all set to a beat that people can wiggle along to,” says Kyle. “Is it a deep, emotional song? Absolutely not! But I think people are just ready to party this summer and not dwell on the awful pandemic we have gone through. I asked my friends what they wanted to hear from me and that was exactly what they wanted: FUN!”

Tyler Jensen, director of the critically-acclaimed documentary Scream, Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street, which is currently streaming on Shudder, directs the music video for “Retro.” Shot at Old American Can Factory in Brooklyn and Hamlet’s Vintage in Manhattan, the video also features drag queen Michael “Pickles” Wakefield as the vintage store clerk.

“She’s hilarious,” says Kyle, speaking about Pickles. “I’m so happy she got the chance to clown around with me!”

Stylist Addam Moreno serves us colorful vintage lewks and incredible wigs, and make up artist Ari Rosenbaum helps Kyle’s face shine with retro glamor.

“Retro” is now available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud and all other music platforms!
