Join Us at the 2nd Annual Bear World Magazine Awards
After months of antici…….pation the 2nd annual Bear World Magazine Awards, presented by BIKE Athletic is upon us! And boy do we have a show for you!!
The awards will take place Monday, July 15th at 7 PM at the Crown & Anchor in Provincetown during Bear Week. The awards will be hosted by our very own editor in chief, John Hernandez along with drag queen sensation and actor Payton St. James.
“I couldn’t be more excited to bring the Bear World Magazine Awards to Bear Week Provincetown,” Hernandez shared. “We have been working hard to put together an amazing show with tons of special guests that honors and uplifts the community we love so much.”
Things will kick off at 6 PM on the red carpet hosted by LA drag sensation, Dragula alumnus and Sloppy Seconds Podcast co-host Meatball, who is sure to stir things up while interviewing presenters and nominees as they show up for the big event.
Bear World Magazine cover man Drew Sebastian is confirmed to present at the awards along with bear icon Big Dipper. Bear community titans such as Frank Mahoney, president of the Provincetown Bears, Nino Eilets, co-owner of Palm Springs’ International Bear Convergence and Jonathan Hawkins, owner of the Crown & Anchor will also be on hand to give out trophies.
The one and only Matt Alber will also be in attendance with a very special musical performance you don’t want to miss.
In total, twelve awards will be handed out, ten which were voted on by you, the readers, and the Bear World Trailblazer and Icon awards which were selected by the editorial staff that will be presented to Dan Jiménez and Les K Wright, respectively.
It will be an unforgettable night celebrating the contributions of the best and brightest that the bear community has to offer. Ticket sales from the event will benefit Prouder Together. Prouder Together is a collective of individuals, artists, businesses, non-profits, corporations, venues, and destinations that believe in supporting and stabilizing Pride festivals, empowering a community’s ability to celebrate each other and demonstrate the strength in solidarity through collaboration within and across the LGBTQ+ community.

The party continues later that evening with the official Bear World Magazine Awards After Party at the Crown with renowned DJ Calagna on the decks and a special performance by Big Dipper. Admission is covered for those with Bear Week Provincetown dog tags, otherwise admission is $20, also benefitting Prouder Together. Tickets available HERE.
