GLUE Weekend is Back!

GLUE Weekend is set to make its triumphant return in October of this year.

We all know there is a big overlap between the kink and bear communities. After all, what’s hotter than a furry chest encased in a harness? Nothing, that’s what!

After a three-year hiatus, Houston will once again host GLUE (Gear, Leather, Uniform, Etc) Weekend October 20 – 22, 2023. Produced by Misfits Houston, a Houston leather/Levi club which is celebrating their 30th anniversary, the weekend is one of the longest running LGBTQ+ fetish weekends in Texas. Events will be hosted by Buddy’s and Kiki, two new bars located in the Montrose neighborhood, which serves the LGBTQ+ community.

The weekend will include the annual Mr. Third Coast Leather contest, which represents the states in the Gulf Coast Region. The competition is also a direct preliminary contest to International Mr. Leather held in Chicago. Other weekend events include The Dirty Hanky Party, The Misfits Ball “Oiled and Lubed”, cigar socials, fetish classes and much more. The following is the current schedule of events:

2023 GLUE RUN SCHEDULE

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20th

Registration @ Kiki’s Patio, 6pm – 10pm

Welcome! Pick up your pre-registered GLUE Weekend package, swag bag, run pin, branded cum rag and t-shirt and more. Registration is open Friday and Saturday to provide information on all events. You can also “ask the locals” for dining, shopping and bar recommendations in the Montrose area. If you didn’t pre-register…no worries…easily and effortlessly purchase tickets to individual events using the QR code onsite at registration.

ONYX Social @ Barcode, 6pm – 9pm

Barcode Takeover! Join ONYX Lonestar for a GLUE Social at the Barcode Patio. ONYX is an international organization formed and operated by Men of Color (Black, African American, Hispanic, Native, Asian, Pacific Islander, etc.) who enjoy the leather lifestyle. ONYX sets as its goal to provide an informational and social organization to address issues specific to people of color who chose to project the positive aspects of the leather lifestyle and support our community and economic initiatives.

Cigar Social @ Buddy’s, 6pm – 9pm

Calling all cigar aficionados and admirers to come-out and smoke-out on the Buddy’s patio! Cigars and cigar accessories will be available for purchase on the patio by a local Houston Cigar Shop. Several Bootblacks will be on hand to shine those boots for ya and, making a personal appearance, we will have our very own, Misfits Houston Barber, Mamageng, (Geno) who will be offering fades and cuts for a fee during the event. It’s time to brush up on your hanky colors and the meaning behind them. What colors do you flag??? Do you flag on the left or the right??? Make your kinks and fetishes be known! Wear your colors proudly! Kiki Houston will be filled with beats from our celebrity DJ and enjoy the entertainment from our sexy GOGO dancers flagging their colors. Get wet at the notorious Club Houston, touted as one of the best men’s club in Texas. This is a great venue to release the heat, cool down and enjoy the magnificently beautiful scenery. Discounts will be given to run pass holders. Rooms and lockers available so meet us at the pool!

Daddie Danger is going to talk about chastity, cage and device play basics, keyholding, piercings with chastity, tease/denial, and other “fun” games you can play while locked up. We’ll talk about both long and short term play. Strategies for getting to the feelings you want from this type of play. We’ll wrap up with a few words on physical and mental health while in chastity for all partners. (ticketed event)
“Polyamory Relationships”
Instructor: Ty David Lerman, MA, LPC-S, CHT

Ty will discuss dynamics and challenges about polyamory relationships within the LGBTQ+ community. Dialogue and discussion welcomed. (ticketed event)
“Impact Play”
Instructor: Cat Artemis
3pm – 3:45pm
Cat will go over safety during play and demonstrate the skills and techniques of impact play. Instrumentation and usage will be also part of the class. (ticketed event)
“Pup 101”
Instructor: TBD
4pm – 4:45pm
An immersive class that will introduce you to the kink that involves puppy hoods, wagging tails, fetching bones, and barking. This class will also combine vigorous cuddling and praise and relaxation techniques. (ticketed event)

Pup Social @ Kiki’s Patio, 4pm-6pm

Come see who will take the 2023 Mr. Third Coast Leather title. This title is sponsored by The Misfits Houston and the winner will represent the Gulf Coast region. Need a Bloody Mary or Mimosa after last night? Join us for a seated catered delicious brunch with our wonderfully informative guest speaker, Dr. Carlton Thomas “Dr. Carlton” is a gay gastrointestinal physician, who has made a presence on social media such as Instagram and TikTok, speaking about queer health and “butt stuff”. He was named one the #OUT100 people from Out Magazine in 2022, and San Diego Hero of Pride in 2023. Dr. Carlton is a Mayo Clinic graduate. The brunch will also have a short program to recognize our leather community partners and friends with award recognition. (ticketed event)
