From Red Carpets to the Dance Floor, MistRbear Has Got You Covered

We are still recovering from this year’s Bear World Magazine Awards but did want to take a moment to highlight MISTRBEAR since they graciously agreed to dress our editor in chief, John Hernandez, who co-hosted the event along with Payton St. James.

Inspired by the desire to make fashionable clothes in all sizes that were accessible to everyone, Mistrbear opened first as a boutique in the heart of Montreal’s gay village back in 2018. As its popularity quickly grew in Montreal and thanks to its website, they became a distributor for renowned stores such as Leather64ten Chicago and Passional Boutique in Philadelphia in 2020. At the beginning of 2021, Les Folies du Cœur in Quebec City welcomed their products onto their shelves and then they had the exciting opportunity to adorn the walls of Spit It Out in Europe. Last year, in 2023, they expanded once more by opening a second location in Puerto Vallarta, where the idea for Mistrbear all began.

When the time came to plan this year’s awards John knew immediately he wanted Mistrbear, (who were nominees for Best Bear Retailer in 2023) to dress him.

“I’ve been shopping at Mistrbear for YEARS!” John explained. “I remember stumbling upon their store in Montreal by accident and being absolutely thrilled that there was a store with fashionable, sexy apparel in my size. It was a match made in heaven!”

John hosted the awards in the Neo Plaid Formal Shirt and Neo Plaid Shorts both in the red plaid colorway in size 4XL. On the red carpet John wore Mistrbear’s White Floral Romper also in a size 4XL.

“I got a lot of compliments on my looks from awards night. Thank you so much Mistrbear for making sexy and fashionable options in big boy sizes.” John said.
