Ford Expedition: A Gift for Big Men Everywhere

No need to worry about cramming all your manliness into a vehicle when you are driving the 2026 Ford Expedition, a large SUV that drives with all the power and size that you, as a Bear, enjoy every day.

You can get truly fully comfortable when you climb into this Big Hoss of an SUV, which will give you a max cargo capacity of 123 cubic feet when you fold down both the third and second row of seats.

Just be sure to zip your pants back up when you step out of the vehicle because, well, we want you to be comfortable, yes, but there are those pesky decency laws in most towns.

Getting a full redesign for 2025, U.S. News and World Report ranks this year’s Expedition as the No.1 Large SUV in a crowded field that includes the Chevy Tahoe, Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia, all wonderfully competent large SUVs IMHO.

Of note is a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, to complement a 24-inch wraparound digital instrument cluster.  This is a bit overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it, it will all come together nicely.  For those of you who like to use voice commands, you will really like this.

You will want to keep both hands on the wheel for this joyride. The twin-turbo 400-horsepower V6, once it gets going, can have a mind of its own and, as expected, it does not stop on a dine. Juggling a cheeseburger, Slurpee and cellphone or vape (please don’t) is not advised.

Make no mistake, this big boy is not a city car, meaning that if you rely on underground parking or even an old garage that was build for a carriage, the Expedition is not for you.

Pricing starts well over $60K just to get into the vehicle.  Add in insurance and maintenance …. yes, the costs go up. Average mileage is 18 miles per gallon; not bad for such a hulker, really, but should gas prices start to skyrocket, you could get pinched in places other than your belly.

Still, the joy of driving where you have all the room to expand as you need is refreshing. As Irene Cara sang in FlashdanceWhat a Feeling…….

St. Pat’s Day is right around the corner, and for those who are Irish or who were raised by Irish Catholic nuns and priests (like me), a time-honored tradition is to serve corned beef and cabbage for the holiday.

It’s still one of my favorite dishes and nowadays you can make it any way you like, to include throwing in jalapenos or adding a bit of Siracha sauce.

Recipes abound on the internet, from easy recipes to more involved ones. Regardless, now is the time to make sure your local grocer has the corned beef brisket you will need to keep your dinner festive.

As Bears, we can appreciate these more traditional recipes, since we know that good food does not necessarily come in small portions teases with tweezers on Lenox China. When preparing a St. Patrick’s Day feast, just remember that serving cabbage to a group of men can cause a reaction.

Thusly, keep the ventilation generous and the Febreze nearby.
