FlockFest Returns to Fort Lauderdale to Raise Money for Charity

Flockfest returns to the center of the Floridian bear scene, Fort Lauderdale, from July 4 -7 and we have all the details!

Bears lovers already know that Fort Lauderdale is the place to be if you’re looking for a furry date or a handsome daddy. Besides the gorgeous weather, Fort Lauderdale is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the US and has some of the best gay entertainment around. It’s no wonder that events like Lauderdale Tropical Bear Week, Cannonball and Stonewall Pride have chosen to hold their events here. But have you heard about FlockFest?!

Founded in 2015 by Steven Crawford, Flockfest began as a small gathering of friends at the beach with swan floats and a promise of a great time. Over the years, it has grown into a massive event with over 800 floats, 1500 VIP attendees, and thousands more participants on the beach. Beyond the beach gatherings, FlockFest is a nonprofit fundraising foundation dedicated to partnering with other nonprofits, organizing events, and co-hosting fundraisers to positively impact the community. Their mission is to have fun while raising money for charitable causes, making a significant difference in the lives of others. Some of the charities FlockFest patronizes are PRISM, Broward House, The Renand Foundation and the World AIDS Museum, amongst many others.

This year’s FlockFest Beach Party is being held on July 6 at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park instead of its traditional location on Sebastian Beach in order to allow for more parking, full bathrooms and more space. The party starts at 11 AM and goes on until 4 PM.  Internationally acclaimed DJ Deanne will be on hand to get the crowd moving.  As always, this event invokes, promotes, and celebrates LGBT+ culture and serves as an invitation to grab your best sunglasses and your decorated winged floatie for a day of fun in the sun with your queer siblings. On July 7 from 12 PM to 5 PM there will be the FlockFest SPLASH Pool Party –  Flamingo Edition. This beloved T-dance will take place at The Easton at Courtyard Downtown FTL. The Easton is the property’s rooftop pool and lounge and Hunters Nightclub will be handling the VIP area. Enjoy an afternoon by the pool dancing to your favorite dance tunes and taking in spectacular views of the city! Tickets are available here.

FlockFest routinely adds smaller events leading up to the main beach party. So far, they have been for VIP ticket holders and sponsor appreciation events. The interest has been so great, however, that they are looking to add events that will be open to the general public with a ticket purchase. Money raised from these events will bring even greater support to the FlockFest charities. Details on those events are still being worked out at this time.
