‘Drag Race Down Under’ announces Kylie Minogue as a guest judge
Some of the guest judges for the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under have been revealed, and we are absolutely GAGGING!
According to EW, Kylie Minogue, along with her sister, Dannii Minogue, and Oscar-winning Jojo Rabbit filmmaker Taika Waititi, are all joining the show as guest judges! So far, only three names have been revealed, but we can only imagine who else is set to join the panel! Also, according to the article, the guest judge appearances have all happened virtually.
“I’m so excited to finally be a part of RuPaul’s Drag Race for the first series [of] Down Under,” Kylie stated in a statement. “It’s such an iconic show and I can’t wait to watch the contestants perform their hearts out to win the title of Down Under‘s first Drag Superstar!”
“I got to have a cheeky Untucked chat with the girls on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under season 1,” said Dannii. “They had come straight from the runway challenge so it was exciting and tense all at the same time, not knowing who was going to have to lip sync for their life!”
For some, there was absolutely no doubt that a Drag Race set in Australia would be graced with the presence of Kylie Minogue. However, there’s one Aussie queen who has still not been confirmed: Coutney Act. Courtney has her own past as a competitor on Drag Race, but since no other former drag contestant has been invited to judge, folks’ hopes don’t seem to be too high that it will actually happen.
Drag Race Down Under premieres May 1 on the WOW Presents Plus app, on TVNZ in New Zealand, and on Stan in Australia.
