Comedy Duo Husbands Darcy & Jer Premiere on WOW Presents Plus

This week the hilarious Darcy and Jer saw their live show No Refunds and their documentary Happily Ever Laughter: The Darcy and Jer Story both launch exclusively on WOW PRESENTS PLUS (except in Canada).

Fans all across the globe fell in love with husbands Darcy Michael and Jer Baer via their social media presence, which highlights their almost sitcom-like dynamic and offers insight into mental health and family life. To commemorate their work cultivating a supportive online community, TikTok honored Darcy and Jer as Visionary Voices in 2024.

After amassing over 6.5 million followers and racking up 50 million views on social media, the husbands took to the stage together for the first time in 2023. The live stage show, captured in the No Refunds stand-up special, enjoyed a sold-out North American tour that ultimately extended across the pond to the UK and Ireland.

We managed to grab a few minutes with these funny men, and they answered our questions in their own fun stye:

Richard Jones: Thankyou both so much for taking time to talk to us, we love what you do and have been watching from afar. Tell us where you both met? Was it a great meet cute?

Darcy & Jer: We met online 22 years ago before it was cool or some would say, before it was considered safe to do so? A website called facepic dot com, it connected to your msn messenger account and you could chat. It was archaically simple. Our meet cute wasn’t very cute, we went for a drink at a restaurant in Vancouver while we both had friends in the restaurant in case the other one turned out to be a serial killer. But it was even worse, one of them turned out to be a comedian. 

RJ: How long have you been together?

D&J: It’ll be 22 years next week. 

RJ: Where do you live?

D&J: We lived in Vancouver for 20 years while  we raised our daughter Grace but now we’ve relocated to Vancouver Island. 

RJ: Tell us a little bit about each of your backstories.

D&J: That’s easy, Darcy is charming, handsome, hilarious and has always been the greatest thing ever. Jer plays video games. And definitely was the one answering these questions!

RJ: What got you started with your online videos?

D&J: It started just before covid with some clips from Darcy’s first stand up special and then by time covid hit, we were out of clips to post so Darcy just started filming these silly house husband videos and the next thing we knew, we were taking off.

RJ: What made you take to the stage?

D&J: Money. And because we wanted to see what it would be like after creating content online for so many years if people would leave their house to come see us. Turns out they would!

RJ: What’s the plan for the future?

D&J: Hopefully a nap one of these days but for now we’re hitting the road again with our new tour AVERAGE AT BEST!
