Get ready to spend the first weekend of July next year in Halifax, NS at Canada’s Bear Ball XL, the inclusive bear run with loads of events and experiences! There is truly something for everyone at this event, from dance parties to pool parties to drag brunch to local excursions, it’s definitely a bear run you don’t want to miss.
This bear run is also quite affordable, priced at $125 if you want to experience every single event ticket, or you can pick and choose. There’s also two hotels you can stay at; the host hotel is The Hollis Hotel, and the overflow hotel is The Barrington, only three blocks away!
Going to Bear Ball XL also helps support their local community, and here’s how. A portion of the proceeds from Bear Ball XL are donated to Heal NS, an organization that provides support for those living with and affected by HIV, and for members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Their aim is to improve health outcomes, end stigma and discrimination for our community members, and to end new HIV infections in Nova Scotia.
It’s also not just for gay men only, it is for everyone in the 2SLGBTQ+ community. If you are trans, queer, or anything under the umbrella, you are welcome to join in on the fun in a safe and inclusive environment! That’s something I love to see at a bear run, personally.
