Bryce Quartz & Yvie Oddly release clean and uncensored music video for latest song “Sex Icon”
The track dropped on Bryce’s birthday, April 4th, with a dual-released music video experience that is both ‘clean’ and uncensored.
Independent gay rapper Bryce Quartz just released his latest provocative new single Sex Icon that features the avant-garde RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11 winner Yvie Oddly and Missouri based bisexual rap legend Shilow.
Although Bryce has faced tough medical challenges the last two years delaying new releases, his resilience shines through on this track and music videos bringing us one of his best songs yet.
Sex Icon is more than just your standard rap song, it’s a high octane gay rap anthem of self reclamation and body autonomy that screams confidence.
The combination of clever lyrics and unforgettable multi-syllable rhyme patterns atop the swaggerish trap instrumental serves up a bold dish of authentic queer sexual expression and braggadocious sensual passion.
Canadian queer producer Keyano created the instrumental from scratch, providing the perfect foundation for Bryce, Yvie, and Shilow to do their thing.
Bryce also teamed up with Catalin Stelian, a true master in his craft as a photographer and videographer, for the third time in his career to film, edit, and direct both versions of the music video. Catalin previously did the Cum Pirate and Daddy Dick music videos for Bryce.

“Working with Yvie Oddly was a dream because we both speak the language of ‘misfit’ in our queer creative expression.” says Bryce Quartz.
“The song is about owning the power and desirability of your body and sexual expression on your own terms. Its core theme centers on each of us being a ‘sex icon’ in our own ways, challenging the listener to become their own sex icon in a world that vilifies us as queer people and how we express ourselves sexually.”
In a move that challenges modern digital censorship, the release of Sex Icon will be accompanied by two distinct visual experiences that Bryce has previously done with his singles Cum Pirate and Daddy Dick.
- The Mainstream Edit: A high fashion and high brow cinematic journey safe for all social media platforms.
- The Uncensored Director’s Cut: An explicit NSFW version of the music video available exclusively on Bryce’s JustForFans account.
This dual release strategy highlights the song’s core theme: the tension between how society views queer sexuality and the raw reality of personal expression.
Viewers can choose both a safe for work edit made for YouTube and a not safe for work edit featuring Bryce and Yvie fully nude and embracing each other sexually, something musicians have almost never done before, let alone a winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The video also has artistic references and nods throughout it to icons such as Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Basquiat created by illustrator AlphaCMT and 3D designer FairyBoy, enhancing the high brow aesthetic to the sexually infused visuals already present.
“The music video was filmed across a two day shoot right here in NYC by my iconic videographer Catalin Stelian who filmed my last two videos. I wouldn’t want to go with anyone else for a project like this!,” says Bryce.
“After my life changed the last two years due to unexpected medical conditions forcing me to walk with a cane, I thought I’d never be able to create music again, let alone perform or film another music video to the level of my last ones.”
“I remember crying on the subway ride home and realizing just how resilient I’ve become. The catharsis was real. This song is truly dedicated to those who’ve faced physical or emotional trauma that slowed them down from pursuing their dreams. If I can come back from what I went through to put out a music video of me having sex with a winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I’m a firm believer you can do anything you put your mind to if you trust the process and take things day by day!”
