All-new 2025Audi Q6 e-tron: German EV style and class

I have mixed feelings about the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron.

First and foremost, it is a very stylish midsized SUV that just drips of class and confidence.  If you want an EV and love the notion of a high-end luxury all-battery SUV, then this is your car, assuming you can handle the entry-level price of around $60K US.

This is a brand-new entry into the luxury class, and it does not disappoint on that measurement. The interior ambience includes a soothing light show, leather upholstery, cooling seats and an all-around behind-the-velvet-rope experience.

Horsepower can get up to 322 and range can exceed 300. The ride is poised yet powerful when necessary.

I tested the base Premium trim with Quattro, which basically added All-Wheel Drive, Bang and Olufson sound and other snazzy stuff – and jacked the price up another $17K.  The sky is the limit on how fancy you can take the Q6 e-tron, which is similar to the petrol-powered Audi Q5.

I am all for saving the planet, I really am. Yet on a practical level, my concern is still with what it will take, if you will, to gas up the car.

Charging at home can take over 12 hours, but using a public DC fast charging station can get it done in as little as 30 minutes and can possibly get you up to an 80% charge. Maybe.

I will go out on a limb here and assume that most readers of Bear World Magazine are renters and do not have a dedicated garage or parking space where they can charge an electric vehicle overnight.  That makes owning an EV impractical, especially an expensive luxury EV that is not practical for daily inner-city use or road trips.

Thus, caution is advised.

I will say, this is an electric vehicle that drives much like a petrol-powered hybrid; to include sounds that make it sound more like a motorized car and less like a bumper car (although at times, it does try to think for you and that really is annoying).

IMHO you really want to have an Audi and an electric vehicle to get the 2025 Q6 e-tron. There is a lot to be said for this new entry into the luxury EV market.  Yet as always, do your homework before you buy.  The winds of change are blowing over the land as of late (smiley face here).

Happy September, Bears.  Fall is in the air; the kiddies are back in school …. and the smell of Pumpkin Spice is popping up everywhere, even in your Cheerios.

I admit to being a Pumpkin Spice Bear.  My husband Paul made me wait until this month before I could buy anything with pumpkin spice in it.  Fair enough.  In Australia, the taste of something sweet made with pumpkin is a bit of an anomaly, as opposed to Vegemite (which he hates).

Might you recall how the Aussie band Men At Work sang about someone giving them a Vegemite sandwich? Come on over and I will prepare one for you.  I will even put it on Texas Toast, so you can have a full flavor experience.

And then watch to see how you react (another smiley face).
