Bearfoothunter & Avery Leach Have Fun in PV
When Bearfoothunter won a bear paradise getaway courtesy of Gun Oil Lube, he brought his preferred international travel partner, actor/bartender/comedian Avery Leach along for the ride.
Gun Oil Lube covered the flights, Bear World Magazine secured the stay, and the two headed off for a few days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, trading routine for sun, surf, and a proper bear welcome south of the border.
Where They Stayed
Hotel Delfín Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico
Tucked in the Zona Romantica, Hotel Delfín put the guys within easy walking distance of the beach, the bars, and the shops that filled out their days.
A short, low-key stay that let the trip’s real highlights, the food, the sun, and the people, do the talking.
Beach Days
Several afternoons were spent at Ritmos, known locally as the Green Chairs, with frozen margaritas in hand and the Pacific in view.
It became the default hangout between adventures, the kind of spot where a couple of hours easily turned into a full afternoon of watching the waves roll in and catching up on nothing in particular.
Shopping
A stroll through Isla Cuale, just outside the Zona Romantica, turned up trinket stands and souvenirs worth bringing home.
The little island market, wedged between the river and the jungle, is packed with local vendors selling everything from handmade jewelry to painted ceramics, an easy way to spend an hour and walk away with a few keepsakes from the trip.
Bear Bar
For drinks with a bear crowd, the guys hit Diablitos, a small dive cocktail bar run by great owners.
It’s the kind of unfussy, welcoming spot that makes a night out feel like catching up with old friends, cold drinks, good conversation, and the kind of hospitality that keeps visitors coming back.
Where They Ate
- La Palapa for a fancier dinner right on the beach, the kind of setting made for watching the sun go down over dinner
- Sonoritas for excellent food and drinks, a standout the guys kept coming back to
- Coco’s Kitchen for an amazing breakfast, the perfect fuel before a day of beaching and shopping
- Barra Light for a healthier breakfast and standout smoothies, a solid pick for mornings after a late night out
