2026 Range Rover Sport: Midsized Elegance, Ruggedness Combine w/ 21st Century Tech
Staff writer Sam Gomez reviews the 2026 Range Rover Sport where he describes it as a “dream car.” Get the details below!
Smooth, quiet and posh are some of the terms internet reviewers are using to describe the 2026 Range Rover Sport.
This is indeed one of the snazziest (and upwardly priced) vehicles on the lot. Depending on trim, horsepower starts at 355 and goes up from there.
It’s snazzy and powerful. And good-looking.
The Range Rover Sport is considered a midsized SUV, so the name ‘Sport’ is almost code for, yes, something that can get a little tight for robust men like us.
Its smaller brother is the Ranger Rover Velar, and its big brother is the regular ole Range Rover, a large SUV.
All luxurious. All Ruff ‘n Ready.

Everything you expect from Land Rover (the manufacturer / brand) is packed into the Land Rover (the luxury sub-brand) Sport.
All-Wheel Drive, 20-way heated / ventilated front seats, Windsor leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, 13.1-inch infotainment and driver information display, 15-speaker Meridian Sound System, 360-degree cameras, lane-keep assist…. those are just some of the standard features you get for the base SE trim that starts at $80K USD.
I tested the Dynamic SE trim, which is one step-up from the base SE trim and comes with sportier interior / exterior accents and more engine choices.
This one starts about $90K, and trust me, there are many more expensive trims that can reach well above $171,000.
Keep in mind, we are talking about Land Rover here. This is a dream car. And if you’d rather talk in your sleep than feel your way around, you can do that too:

This is one of those 21st Century Goerge Jetson vehicles where there are effectively no buttons for audio and climate or other car functions that you used to be able to operate by just reaching over and adjusting by hand.
Now, it’s voice activated, so (in theory) all you have to do is say ‘audio up’ or ‘turn down the fan’ and your every wish is the Range Rover Sport’s command.
And that’s assuming you annunciate clearly. And that the command makes sense.
I am exaggerating here, but let’s assume you said “Play Pink’s Blow Me”: somehow, I think the entire command could get lost in translation and then your best hope is that the command will get canceled completely.
As always, caution, and clarity, is advised.
Next week, I will be writing about how to shop for and hopefully purchase an inexpensive and reliable car. Trust me, anymore, it is a bit like finding an unmarried Bear who is handsome, available and pulls down six-figures annually. It can be done, but it takes some effort, some research and some compromise.
And that’s just to get him to your favourite restaurant.
