2026 Toyota Sienna Hybrid Bear-a-Van: Perfect for Your Next Road Trip
When you and your mates need plenty of space to get in and out of a vehicle with ease, the 2026 Toyota Sienna Hybrid minivan could be your ticket to having all kinds of space without the need to rent an additional trailer to hook up to the bumper hitch.
It’s possible to get up to 75 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row of seats and a total of 100 feet of cargo space (but not all in one area) inside the Sienna for all your humans, pets and gear for your Magical Mystery Tour, wherever that may lead.
You will get a combined 35 miles per gallon, which is pretty good for the class. This year’s Sienna hybrid does not come as a strictly gasoline-only nor plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Pricing starts at just over $40K US. The 2026 Sienna is clearly a practical vehicle; if you are concerned about how this will affect your coolness factor when you pull into the parking lot at the Leather Bar, this may not be the car for you.
If, however, you have big dogs like Great Danes or Greyhounds, or you have children from that one time you experimented with heterosexuality and found out just how randy you really are, well then yes, this car can work very well for your day-to-day needs.
The side doors slide open and close with just the push of a button. Plenty of room inside for groceries, packages, stuff (or crap), delivery items (like when you are doing your volunteer work), or if you are taking care of a loved one with a disability.
When I was caring for my elderly mother and my disabled brother, I loved when I got to test the Toyota Sienna. Having the Sienna made going to Kroger or Safeway very easy. Going to the doctor’s office was a snap. And going for my afternoon latte was a breeze with them (and a wheelchair and a walker) in tow.
The tech on all Toyotas is some of the most user-friendly in the car industry. Unlike most Bears, I struggle (for example) to know the difference between an Apple lightning and USB-C charger. But when I hop into a Toyota, all prompts immediately ask me if I want to sync my phone, and a few easy moments later, I am listening to my oldies but goodies.
(The other day, IHeart Radio stated that Cher’s Believe was a moldy oldie. Indeed, I felt like I had been carbon-dated.)

There is one big downside to this year’s Sienna: while very cavernous inside, the second row of seats cannot be removed, which limits your ability to carry large ticket items like furniture. That said, there is a lot of room for those seats to slide, so if you slide them around just right, you can get quite a bit of cargo in there, to include five people and the driver.
I truly would recommend considering the Sienna for your next Bear road-trip. There is plenty of room inside for a couple of coolers, disco dance gear and your luggage. No need to think too much about how to arrange everything.
I feel you might be pushing it a bit to put five bears inside, but it can be done. Four bears, however, would be ideal.
You can pack plenty of snacks, leave them in the grocery bags, and if you get one of the higher-end Siennas of 2026, you will get a built-in car vacuum and a fridge-box to keep a few drinks cold.
The biggest challenge as the month of April continues? Staying cool. And staying hydrated.
The fun – and the challenges – have just begun. Please be sure to take care of yourself and each other. And check in on each other often.
And as always, let us know how we here at Bear World can help.
