2026 Lexus RX450h: Plug-In Luxury for Everyday Bears
Men of size and traveling in style need not be mutually exclusive, and with the 2026 Lexus RX 450h, you can feel comfortable, feel stylish, reduce your carbon footprint and truly ‘Enjoy The Go’.
(Note: this review will focus only on the RX 450h but know that the RX also comes as a gasoline-only SUV.)
This year’s RX 450h is a plug-in hybrid, which is a combination of a hybrid and electric car. So, yes, basically, it’s your everyday three-way of petrol, electric and stored-up hybrid energy that should keep you going up to a maximum of 85 miles per combined gallon of fuel and energy, but plan on about 35 mpg for your monthly petrol budget.

You will also need to remember to plug it into the wall once in a while, so a plug-in hybrid is not good option for those Bears without a garage or dedicated charging space.
Driving a Lexus is always like climbing past the velvet ropes and lounging in a velvet suite of comfort, calmly and safety, all without the velvet. I truly enjoyed driving this roomy SUV, which one expects to be composed, competent and classy, all at once. And it is.

Talking about pricing for any 2026 model is tricky (at best), but plan on a starting price of $67K US and everything costing more from there. This is one of the finer midsize SUVs on the road, with top competitors being the Mercedes GLE and the Genesis GV70, both of which I will be reviewing in the weeks to come.
Further complicating pricing on the 450h+ is that there really are no ‘trim’ levels, just different options that are available. I tested the ‘+’ version, which has an effective horsepower of 304, panoramic moon roof, 21-inch alloy wheels, intuitive parking assist, wood / leather-trimmed heated steering wheel – and All-Wheel Drive. And a bunch of other snazzy stuff.
Should you need a smaller SUV but still must have all the luxury, the Lexus NX (smaller) or the UX (still smaller) can meet the moment, but please test-drive one first. For men of size, the ride can get a little pinched, and not in a flattering way.

Seriously, guys, you know that I am not a fan of ordering a car online and having it delivered like a pizza to your door, sight unseen. This is not Chinese takeout. This is not something you can pop in the microwave to improve what was lost in transit. Take your time. Do your homework. And please ask questions, right here in the comment section.
Also, it’s never too soon to start thinking about making those Valentines Day dinner reservations or planning a special meal for the man you love. Or the man (men) you think you love.
Truly, check with the restaurant now. All the tables on February 14 may already be booked.
