2025 Ram 2500: When you need a work truck and your accountant says it’s okay

This review will focus solely on the 2025 Dodge Ram 2500, a big heavy-duty truck that will work for you if you need to tow 10 tons (yes, 10 tons) or more, need a payload of up to 2,700 pounds and, most importantly, you have plenty of money for petrol (15 mpg city / 21 highway) and enough of a garage or driveway to park it safely.

So, fair warning: Get the Ram 2500 only if you have a lot of physical work to do, need the strength and the payload – and your accounting people say this is a worthwhile investment for your business. If you just need a good, strong truck, the 1500 will do just fine.

The engine is powerful, as you would expect: a 6.7-liter Cummings turbo-diesel with 430 horsepower and over 1,000 pound-feet of torque.

Car and Driver finds this engine to truly be the cat’s meow. The power behind it is kinda hard to explain, but let’s just say that a truck with this engine can’t be stopped, sometimes literally.

That’s a lot of power behind a big boy that impresses even when stripped down – so make sure you really need it all the time.

The touchscreen is the size of a tablet, coming in at just under 15-inches. Ram has some of the easiest personal tech in the business, meaning I can play all the songs that make me feel butch by taking just a few easy setup steps. Truly, I’m Back in the Saddle Again.

You can also get the Ram 2500 with an 8-foot bed if you so desire. Effectively, you can get the 2025 Ram 2500 just about any way you like. But be prepared to spend some money, and if your accountant says he can make this work for you – well, there ya go! Find a Ram Dealership.
