2024 Toyota Sequoia: We Like ‘Em Large Here

The 2024 Toyota Sequoia is definitely a large SUV, so if you think can handle it – from all angles and all positions – get ready to hop in.

Yes, this is an SUV, but it quacks like a truck and acts like a truck.

Sure, you can’t easily use it to help a buddy build a deck or do an add-on to a mountain cabin. But in those faraway places, you can use it to have all kinds of out-of-the-way fun.  (And with this one, you can tow 9,000 pounds when properly equipped.)

Several configurations of this real-life Lurch are available, all starting at just over $61K US. You will want to go up the food chain to get the goodies like 4-Wheel Drive.  All Sequoias come standard with a V6 turbo.

For such a beast, this vehicle moves pretty fast and brakes pretty fast.  You will want to pay attention at every step of your adventure, even as you approach the driver’s-side door.  Things have a way of moving without you noticing.

This will be great for your out-of-town getaway.  Four or five of your manly friends can travel safely.  There is 49 cubic feet with the 3rd row of seats folded down (I would advise against using these extra seats for people), and almost 87 cubic feet of space when you fold down the 2nd row of seats.

You will want you to be sure you know how to drive a truck – a big truck – before you consider making this purchase.  I have seen many an over-confident man get in, take off, and, well – a cop in full uniform was the next man they encountered in close personal contact.

If this will be your main car for the city, yeah, well… I’d advise against that too.  This a fun SUV/truck, but the ride does get a little bouncy – and challenging. This is a ride for fun. Big fun.

And driving it is like trying to keep an animal in its cage. You really do have to pay attention, even on the highway, because this year’s Sequoia is so big that it can easily crowd out the other traffic without you fully noticing. Just sayin’……..

So, once again, caution is advised.  All the way around.

We here at Bear World want you to have fun this summer no matter what you drive.  And we want you to be safe, so if that means using a car hire when needed, please do.

It is never worth the risk to drive impaired or distracted, especially when you think you are fully capable of handling the road after a Good Time with the boys.

When you start thinking like that, that’s when you know you should have someone else drive.

Again, just sayin’…..
