2024 Mercedes EQE: Electric Elegance
The electric experience with Mercedes is nothing short of elegant, and the 2024 EQEs prove that you can always have that luxury in a sedan. Or an SUV.
Solidly in the Mercedes Benz E-Class, “A lush interior, a smooth ride and innovative tech” are all part of this year’s EQE, according to U.S. News and World Report.
Indeed, good times and pleasure abound in the E-Q car. To be specific, I tested the Mercedes EQE and not the AMG EQE, which is sportier and faster and more expensive. (AMGs are more commonly seen in Europe.)
The EQS, by comparison, is a good-sized SUV that is bigger, has a longer range and is more expensive than the EQE, but just as luxurious.
Of course, with Mercedes, the ride is always poised, and the EQE follows in that vein.
Edmunds.com calls the 2024 EQE “a smart pick for a luxury EV.”
Electric vehicles have been refined a lot since they were first introduced many moons ago, where a range of 100 miles was common and you often felt like you were in a bumper car at Six Flags.
Range for the electric EQE comes in at about 280 miles, which is average for this class of vehicles.
(I would advise that unless you have a garage where you can charge your car often and in private, an EV may not be right for you.)
I tested the 2024 EQE 350+. Wow, what a car, and for the starting price of $78K, you expect it. This vehicle drips with class and style; if you are a luxury kind of Bear, this is definitely a match for you and your ursine leanings.
(Note: some websites refer to the EQE as an SUV. They are kinda splitting hairs here but, yes, the 2024 EQE is not a straight-line sedan. And anymore, what is an SUV or a sedan?)
The field of electric SUVs and sedans is growing, so it’s important you shop to make sure you ultimately get what you need and want. Top competitors in this field include cars from Genesis and Rivian.
Our advice: Make sure you can afford what you want to enjoy.
