2024 GMC Sierra 1500: A Truck to Love from Every Angle
I really liked the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500.
No, wait, I loved it, right up there with Ram and Silverado and all those other big boys and, gosh, you should take a test drive….
“With models proficient in towing, hauling and off-roading, as well as shuttling around the family in luxury, it aims to be pretty good in most facets of [truck-life without one particular] focus, so says U.S. News and World Report, one of my most trusted sources for car information.
And isn’t that what we truly want in a big boy that we are going to spend most days inside, climbing mountains, going to work, having every adventure imaginable? And – one we can share and enjoy with friends?
As with any truck (make sure you really need one and can handle one before you buy), you can get this Sierra any way you like it. This is considered a full-sized pickup, so sheltering it will require some room (truth is, it can shelter you).
Minimum horsepower, depending on trim, is 305. Mileage can be as low as 14 and as high as 29 (again, depending on trim). This is a workhorse. Or a work-Bear. And it can be a lot of fun. 4-cylinders or 8-cylinders, the choices seem endless.
For a starting price of $37,700 US, you can step right in and drive right off the lot.
I had the ultimate in pleasures of testing the 1500 Denali Ultimate package (see here), which came in at just over $87K after you factored in destination charges and some other goodies. Anymore, you can get all the luxury you desire. No need to deny yourself anything unless the love of your life (or your bank – or your parents) tell(s) you otherwise.
The thing I like most about GMC / Chevy is the user-friendly tech. I can sync my phone in no time. Whether I am trying to stream music (I have been listening to traditional Hawaiian music as of late) or trying to pull up classic gay tunes from years gone by, those will pop up in an instant. As for my maps and destinations, those too are easy as a slice of Pumpkin Spice Pie (perhaps a little too easy; seems AI knows my every move, even before I make it).
As Bears, we need room, and trucks like the GMC Sierra 1500 give us all the room we need.
If only the rest of the world saw it our way.
