2022 Infiniti QX60: A Nice Fine Car for Big Boys
With this year’s fully-redesigned Infiniti QX60, you have all the proof you need to show friends and family alike that being a big ole bear doesn’t mean you can’t be cuddly and refined at the same time.
This car is big, despite being called a midsized vehicle. Parking it, yes, does take some skill, or at least a realization that you are not driving a shoe box.
For starters, the base trim, called PURE (all caps) starts at $47,850 US, but there are quite a few standard features that you get for the money.
Like a 12.3-inch touchscreen, which is indeed part of the package, and you will need it to navigate everything. The tech is relatively easy to use: no need to spend time trying to figure out where everything is inside this beast.
It’s a big car and it can hold big passengers, so it can get hot hot hot inside. Or pretty damn cold. Tri-zone climate control is standard. Always a good thing to have when you want to keep everything – and every ‘body’ – under control.
Speaking of space, the 2022 Infiniti QX60 does have a third row of seats, should you need them. Folded down, you will have a lot of room for cargo: almost 42 cubic feet of space. Fold the second row down, and you will have just over 75 cubic feet to load up whatever you need to haul.
Other standard features include a panoramic moonroof, power liftgate, heated steering wheel, heated front seats with adjustable lumbar, 18-inch wheels and leather upholstery in the first and second rows. Just to name a few.
Mileage is 22 city / 25 highway, and that’s because this big boy has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that can crank out 295 horsepower. You need an engine that powerful to drive this beast (because for us Bears, being a beast is a good thing, yes?)
Standard safety includes rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision mitigation, rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning.
I will say, this beast is fun to drive, and I do mean ‘beast’ lovingly. All the tech is necessary to make sure you aren’t running over something when you are backing up, inching forward or just being fabulous, which, anymore, comes with a fair amount of liability.
If you are looking for a big SUV (and have the room to park it), the 2022 Infiniti QX60 is worth your consideration. But just so you know, it truly it is a beast.
But a nice a beast. A luxurious beast. One that is tame and velvety yet powerful and has 295 horses as friends.
Your Bear friends will approve.
