2018 Ford F-150 4×4 Supercrew: Another great flavor for a great truck

Bears and trucks go together like bees to honey, or: Bears to honey. And any man who loves trucks knows the Ford F-150 (and the 250, 350, 450 and even 550) are enough to get you excited to the point that you may have to change your shorts. This year’s classic is no exception.

And if you’ve been around trucks and their admirers, you’ve heard a lot of things, good and bad, about a lot of trucks, and to be honest, there is always a little bit of truth to all of it. But there is also a lot of useless emotion in those comments as well.  If someone’s father drove a Chevy, he most likely will be driving one for life as well.  Same goes with the F-150.  That said, if you are in the market for a truck (and make sure it is realistic for your life and style), the F-150 is good place to start and finish.

I had the pleasure earlier this year of driving one of the many flavors of the F-150, the 4×4 Supercrew. What that means is that you have a rugged 4-Wheel Drive vehicle (caution: not all truck come with standard 4WD, so be sure to check) and you have a nice, spacious, comfortable interior cabin that can hold four men comfortably.  Put your hunting, bowling or performance gear in the bed and off you go to do all your butchy events! Really, does life get any better than that?

Truth is, you can have the F-150 customized however you like, which means you really do need to think about what you want AND what you need.  You can really add on the glam and the extras while racking up the charges if you are not careful. I’ve always felt trucks were for work and personally have never gotten the concept of having a pretty truck that is not functional and is afraid to get dirty.  Trust me, the F-150 wants to get down and dirty and is ready to show you how easily it cleans up so it can go back into the dirt again.

Edmunds calls this year’s F-150 one of the best trucks of the year, and I’d have to agree, but coming from me, that might not be saying much. It’s like me at a Mr. Nude Bear contest: Who is my favourite? Oh heck, they are all winners……

As always, bears, get in, drive it and bring your friends. Just because it made you very, very happy in your fantasies doesn’t mean the reality will be nearly as good.

But in this case, yes, it will.
