‘Third Times A Charm’ for ‘American Queer’ rapper Bryce Quartz
Openly gay rapper Bryce Quartz is dropping American Queer, Vol. 3: Third Times A Charm on March 1!
The final chapter in his American Queer trilogy” — a mixtape collection that plays like a compendium guide for coming into one’s queerness and artistry — Third Times a Charm references Quartz’s three-fold experience of coming out. “It’s ultimately about feeling yourself,” Quartz said.
The third and final installment includes Bryce’s pinnacle of songwriting and creation thus far. From the opening heavy-hitting diss track “Canceled!” to the intoxicating remix of “Game Over! (Feat. Hi Yello),” this tape is a “no-skipper” as Bryce puts it.
The tape also includes an all-star queer rap lineup, with two features from Norwegian bear superstar Big Daddy Karsten, Atlanta’s gay rap icon GodIsMikey, Sin City’s openly gay rapper Symphonic, Tampa’s abrasively gay rapper Duke Stamina, New York City’s bodaciously gay rapper Hi Yello, and Houston’s very own gay rap icon, TROY LUX.
Bryce recently collaborated with RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Brita Filter & East Coast bearded queen royalty KayKay Lavelle for “You Brita Vote, Kay?,” a queer voting anthem with a music video that reached 40k in less than 24 hours. Coming off the success of this collaboration, Bryce was also featured on the cover of his local North Carolinian magazine “Yes! Weekly.”
