METROSOURCE, National LGBTQ Magazine, Turns 30 and Launches Premiere Podcast

METROSOURCE is a groundbreaking LGBTQ publication that is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. Bi-monthly issues with National, New York, and Los Angeles editions, cover popular culture, entertainment, design, travel, health, HIV, fitness, and the stories of gay and gay-friendly personalities. Through print and digital media, METROSOURCE reaches over one million in the LGBTQ community.

Turning 30, and under new ownership this year by Bent Share Entertainment, LLC, METROSOURCE is back to being 100% LGBTQ owned and operated, and is celebrating its anniversary with the launch of an expanded digital experience, including presentation of METROSOURCE MINIS – a short form audio and video podcast that features personalities from the LGBTQ world and beyond, hosted by on-air personality Alexander Rodriguez.

Editor-in-Chief Michael Westman shares “As a leading national LGBTQ magazine, METROSOURCE is celebrating this milestone by looking back at our history over the last 30 years, and by looking forward and introducing new features and products to engage our readers and followers. ‘METROSOURCE MINIS’ podcast is one such feature, and is now available on Metrosource.com, the METROSOURCE YouTube channel, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and coming soon to iHeartRadio. Other exciting upgrades will be coming soon, so stay tuned.”

The first series of METROSOURCE MINIS includes interviews with RuPaul’s Drag Race and HBO’s We’re Here personalities Bob the Drag Queen and Eureka O’Hara, Emmy award winning journalist and author Byron Lane, Elizabeth Ziff from BETTY, and author and producer Josh Sabarra. Host Alexander Rodriguez, who also serves as METROSOURCE’s Features Writer, interviews them in his unique style of humor.

When Alexander asked Eureka about the the reality of body positivity in the LGBT community, she answered, “We we are learning, as bigger people, is that people can’t tear you down if you allow them to.  A lot of body positivity is how we feel about ourselves as bigger people.  Sometimes we, as bigger people, get stuck in this mindset that we’re waiting for other people to tell us we look good, we look hot, we’re waiting for media to prove it.  But, girl, the only person who is gonna prove that to yourself, is you!”

While we are all spending more time at home, METROSOURCE continues to connect with its growing audience with more to come!
