Join the Bears LA as they name a new Mr. Mx. or Ms. Bear LA 2025!

Bears LA invites you to join them for the Mr. Mx. or Ms. Bear LA Contest taking place on Saturday October 19 at the Eagle LA.

Produced by the current reigning Mr. Bear LA, Brian Hettler, the theme of the competition is “Abearican Gladiator”:

“Are you bear enough to enter the Abearican Gladiator arena?” asked Hettler on Instagram. “We’re talkin’ pure, unfiltered, star-spangled animal magnetism! We need bears so tough, they eat nails for breakfast – without any milk!”

The competition is open to people of all ages, sizes, genders, races, and identities. All that matters is that you identify as a bear and are ready and willing to represent Bears LA. The application period closed on October 12^th but from what we hear there is a pretty well-rounded group of competitors ready to battle it out for the title.

The competition will take place this upcoming weekend and will be comprised of a four-step process:

During the Meet and Greet contestants will be introduced to the crowd by the host, have a fun little bit of banter and then participate in a number draw to determine the order in which the contestants will compete at the contest. Contestants have been encouraged to mingle with the crowd as much as possible, as there may be judges in the crowd…

As for the competition itself, it will begin with the introduction of the contestants in “Sexy Singlet” gear. Following that, the contestants will compete in the “Alter Ego” segment. From mystical woodland creatures with an affinity for body glitter to post-apocalyptic road warriors sporting nothing but a strategically placed hubcap, anything is possible during this portion of the event; the only limit being the ingenuity of the competitors (and local decency laws!).

After that, contestants will do a “Bear Run” selling raffle tickets for goodie baskets that will be announced at the end of the contest before the winner. And then, following a break, the contestants will then appear in their “Proud to Be An Abearican” attire (Think formal category, but there will certainly be wiggle room for originality.)

After the victor is announced that night the winner and their fellow competitors will reconvene at Club Chub at Precinct on October 27^th for a victory party.
