GROWLr Live spotlights diverse group of Pride and community organizers this month
GROWLr Live is doing something slightly different for Pride month by showcasing and focusing on members of the community who are involved in Pride and/or community building!
Every Tuesday in June, GROWLr Live will be offering these individuals and organizations a platform to speak, which will give them the additional exposure they deserve by informing the GROWLr audience about the amazing work they do year-round.
The series began on Tuesday, June 7th with André Thomas, Co-Chair of NYC Pride. Check out the rest of this diverse group of speakers so you can plan to tune in each week!
JUNE 14th: Jimmy Ancheta-Tilley Jr. / Associate Director of Development of the It Gets Better Project
Jimmy is the Associate Director of Development of the It Gets Better Project, a nonprofit organization that strives to uplift, empower and connect LGBTQ+ youth around the globe. A San Francisco Bay Area native he has over 15 years of fund-development experience overseeing the fundraising program at San Francisco Suicide Prevention, fundraising and outreach events at the SF LGBT Center and donor relations and operations at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Jimmy joined It Gets Better in March of 2020 and has been working to grow and sustain the organization’s individual, institutional and corporate fundraising as well as the employee resource group engagement efforts.
JUNE 21st: Amhir Hidalgo / Development Director of CenterLink
Amhir Hidalgo is a nonprofit leader serving specifically in the LGBTQ community. Currently he is the Development Director at CenterLink. Previously, Amhir served as the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development at GLAAD, where he led GLAAD’s efforts to increase the organization’s sponsorship and special event revenues. A Texas native, Amhir received his BA from St. Edward’s University and his MA from DePaul University in nonprofit and public service management.
JUNE 28th: Michael McFadden / Associate Director of Programs -Senior Services at LA LGBT Center
Michael is a licensed clinical social worker at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. In his role as Associate Director of Programs – Senior Services, Michael creates opportunities for LGBTQ older adults to connect and engage as a way to combat stigma and isolation. The Senior Services department serves over 5000 seniors annually offering programs and services that span four main categories: Health, Social Services and Housing, Culture and Education, Leadership and Advocacy.
