Grizzly Pines: Texas’ Premier, Gay, Clothing Optional, Campsite for Bears

Deep in the heart of Texas there is a campground where the bears have been going to commune with the great outdoors…and each other! Welcome to Grizzly Pines!

Located about 70 miles northwest of Houston in Navasota, Grizzly Pines is Texas’ premier, gay, clothing optional campsite for men. And while it’s not exclusively a bear space we have it on good authority that much of the clientele identifies as part of the community; it is called Grizzly Pines, after all!

In terms of accommodation they have a variety of cabins available to rent that range from the very simplistic all the way to full blown ‘glamping’ in terms of amenities, and all for an unbeatable price range of $50 to $200 per night, housing two to four guests, depending on the cabin. For those wanting a more rugged or traditional camping experience, there are also tent sites that have electric and running water and RV spots for rent with full hook ups.

Grizzly Pines is a year-round campsite, so at any given time of the year there will be something cool going on. There’s a themed event pretty much every weekend of the year. So far this winter they have already had their New Years celebration and bonfire weekend with plenty more planned for the duration of the season. The following is a roundup of upcoming events leading up to the Spring along with tons of pics from last year’s events to help give you a feel for it!

Lumberjack Weekend January 26^th -28^th

So, admittedly it might be a touch too late to get on this one, unless you live in Texas! So, to all you big, gorgeous Texas bears out there, why not stop in for Lumberjack Weekend?! It will feature a pancake breakfast, drinks at the bar, axe throwing, log rolling and horseshoe throwing. Oh, and a ton of big, beefy men dressed up as lumberjacks. There will be tons of men in good old fashioned bear attire: flannel, plaid, boots — WOOF!

Furry Land at Grizzly Pines February 2^nd – 4^th

A weekend for furries out there!! There will be Furry Twister and video games by the pool, a party tent where you can grab a drink and watch some movies and a photographer on hand to grab photos of you and your furry friends in all your costumed glory!

Texas Bear Winter Campout 8 February 16^th– 18^th

A President’s Day Weekend tradition! Join the Lone Star Bears for a weekend of male bonding and campsite shenanigans….

Dive-in Movie Nights March 1^st – 3^rd

A perfect weekend getaway for movie lovers out there. This year its horror themed with An American Werewolf in London and Cujo being shown on the big screen. Enjoy freshly popped popcorn, snow cones and adult beverages while you watch.

St. Patrick’s Day March 15^th – 17^th

Come revel in the luck of the Irish for a weekend that will consist of some offsite events (if you choose to attend), a ‘green potluck’ and a washer tournament that will be accompanied by frozen drinks to keep things interesting.

Spring Fling March 29^th – 31^st

Join all the other bears coming out of hibernation and welcome in the Spring with a weekend featuring a tighty whitey contest, naked Twister and a BBQ cookout!
