Gogo Bear Spotlight: CircuitDad
The Gogo Bear Spotlight finds its way back to the Big Apple and lands on the sweet and sexy CircuitDad, a relative newcomer to the scene who is making a big impact. Get to know a little about him below!
BWM: Please give us some background on yourself.
CircuitDad: I’m a Midwesterner with southern charm. Hailing from Kansas City, I’ve lived in New Orleans and Dallas but now call New York home. I’m a graphic designer and content creator. I’m a classically trained dancer from a young age, tap/jazz/ballet. I’m a member of the NYC Bearlesque Troupe and a classically trained violist in New York City’s Queer Urban Orchestra.
BWM: When did you start gogo dancing and why?
CircuitDad: I was in Ptown for Spooky Bear weekend in 2023 and was asked by a friend hosting an event called “truck stop” if I wanted to gogo dance. It unlocked something in me and it was the most fun I think I had experienced that year.
BWM: Which bear parties do you dance at?
CircuitDad: I dance at Furball, Urban Bear, Provincetown Bear Week, and Spooky Bear.
BWM: What is your gogo persona?
CircuitDad: CircuitDad is a VERY daddy vibe. He’s here to have fun, create safe space, and bring up the energy (and sexiness) in the room. He loves interacting with people, getting attention, or just being eye candy for the boys.
BWM: Can you tell us a memorable event from one of your gigs?
CircuitDad: This happened recently at furball at a leather bar. The event is usually exclusively men but there was a small group of girls that I guess really liked my looks and energy ‘cause they kept following me around all evening… And at one point their tops came off and they were dancing erratically… Right in front of me…. Still tipping me… It was bizarre… The DJ and promoter were just staring in disbelief. It was wild.
BWM: Do you identify with the bear community?
CircuitDad: Absolutely. I have been a daddy bear since I was 27 and finally have grown into the title now that I’m 40.
BWM: When/ how did you find it?
CircuitDAD: In early college I tried so hard to be a Twink because all I had to watch was Queer as Folk…. It was 2000. But then I dated a bear couple from Dallas, and they introduced me to the amazing world of bears where I feel so at home.
BWM: What do you like most about nightlife and gogo dancing?
CircuitDad: Sharing my giant energy, connection, and body with people. I love making people happy, interacting, dancing, and connecting. I just love making the party better.
BWM: Any upcoming gigs you want to plug or anything you want to mention that we haven’t covered?
CircuitDad: I help host a few parties in NYC: HARDER @harderevent and PorkRoll NYC @porkrollparty. You can also catch me gogo dancing at Furball @furballNYC, Urban Bear events @urbanbearnyc, and Bareback Burlesque @bearbackpresents.
