Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Chaney announces first book
The library is open! RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season two winner, Lawrence Chaney, is about to make us read all about her!
The Scottish drag queen royalty will share with us some tricks of the trade in her book, Lawrence Chaney, Drag Queen of Scots: The Do’s and Don’ts of a Drag Superstar, which is set to be released in September.
Announcing it on Twitter and encouraging us to make it sell out quickly, everyone’s favorite Scottish queen said, “‘I am absolutely buzzing for everyone to read this book! It’s been so amazing to recall silly stories and funny moments I’ve had, as well as sharing what I’ve learnt in life already.”
The book will see Lawrence giving us a slice of her life, while detailing her real-life stories and hardships, including how she learned to sew at 7, being bullied, finding her place in drag and celebrating her curves.
“I’m delighted to be working with Lawrence to share her story with the world,” said Helena Gonda, the commissioning editor of Transworld, the book’s publisher. “During her time on Drag Race we saw the full extent of her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, and the book will delight and inspire readers in equal measure.”
Lawrence Chaney, Drag Queen of Scots will be available from Transworld and Bantam Press in hardback on September 23, 2021.
