On Thursday 13th November 2025, myself, the Deputy Editor, Luka Musicki, attended the Public Sector Neurodiversity Excellence Awards 2025, which is an annual event to congratulate many individual public servants and teams within each Australian Government agencies who help grow neurodiversity awareness, and improve the inclusiveness of the public sector to be accessible. Australia is lucky the only country to celebrate public servants who champion neurodiversity in goverment agencies and in the community.

Well, I was lucky enough to be the winner for the 2025 Community Spirit Award! It was in recognition of my significant contributions, commitments and support to the Public Sector Neurodiversity Community of Practice, and other diversity networks, over time. I was consistently going above and beyond, volunteering my time and technical support, and mentoring and inspiring others! I was proud of this acheivement.

I dedicate my award to the bear community for believing in myself and for giving me the tools that I needed to be the best person in the workplace and to give me the opportunity to strive to work through challenges.

I also got the honour to meet and chat with the Australian Public Service Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner for Diversity and Inclusion, Mr Steven Munns, proud Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung man. It was great to chat about what we can do to make the public service more streamline via digital platforms and training, and how to have more diverse in our workplace to embrace and respect talented staff members.
